The land clearing and tree cutting will not create or significantly contribute to.landslides, accelerated soil creep, settlement and subsidence or hazards associate with strong ground motion and soil liquefaction. The site is not steeply sloped; therefore, the,proposal does not appear to contribute significantly to any of the above -mentioned hazards., b. The land clearing and tree cutting -will not create or significantly contribute to flooding, erosion, or increased turbidity, siltation or other form of pollution in a watercourse. The vegetation that will be removed is not in close proximity to, any watercourse or wetland,'and therefore, its -removal would not contribute'to any flooding, erosion or increased turbidity. c. Land clearing and tree cutting will be conducted to maintain or provide visual screening and buffering between land uses of differing intensity, consistent with applicable landscaping djid setback provisions.of the Renton Municipal. Code. The removal of the understory vegetation will not affect -the current state of visual screening present on the property.. RVMP 09-026 f d. Land clearing and tree cutting shall be conducted so as to expose the smallest practical area of soil to erosion for the least possible time, consistent with an approved build -out schedule and . including any necessary erosion control measures. Staff recommends that as a condition of approval, best management practices for vegetation removal be employed so as to meet this criterion. This includes hydroseeding any exposed areas within 30 days of the completion of work, or covering the areas with hay, or mulch, sod, or plastic.so as to prevent erosion. e.
