HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE Valley Vue Short Plat - Waterline Extension approval - AbdoulSince the existing water main in S 32nd St in front of the access tract in only 4-inch dead-end line with a maximum capacity of 325 gpm, there is no sufficient flow for a new hydrant
to be connected to this line.
Therefore, I am ok with the extension of a new 4-inch main within the access tract and with the 2 new 1-inch meters at the end of the new 4-inch line.

Hey Abdoul,
The fire authority has allowed the Valley Vue shortplat to not install the hydrant and sprinkler the homes instead (see below).
They are proposing to install a 4 inch extension in order to serve the two sprinkler systems and two water meters for the homes. Do they have enough fireflow in order to make this change
and support the sprinkler system? or do you see any other concerns with their change?

Attached is the revised water drawing for your review and approval. As discussed, I changed the wet tap to a 4”, revised the pipe size to 4”, and removed the fire hydrant assembly.

Justin,
The Fire Marshal and Fire Chief met earlier than expected. They offer that if all future new homes and/or additions to existing home are applied for, that the new or remodeled homes
be fully sprinklered and that the new fire hydrant condition could be waived. Otherwise, the builder can extend/replace the 4-inch main with a new 8-inch main up to the existing hydrant
in South 32nd Place in order to supply the new hydrant. Let me know if they are acceptable to this of if they have any further questions. Thanks.
