Dear Mr. Clark:
On behalf of my client Merlino Land Development Co., Inc. ("MLDC"), the owner of the
land on which the seven -lot (plus one tract) Cedar Highlands Short Plat (originally processed
under the name Merlino Short Plat) is proposed, I hereby request under RMC 4-7-070M a one-
year extension of the two-year period for filing of the short plat with the office of the King County
Department of Records and Elections. Subsection M of RMC 4-7-070 states:

M. EXPIRATION PERIOD:
If the short plat is not filed within two (2) years of the date of approval, the short
plat shall be null and void. Upon written request of the subdivider, the

As you will recall, the short plat was approved on September 19, 2016, which is the date
that Planning Director Jennifer Henning signed the Environmental Committee Report and
Administrative Short Plat Report & Decision for the subject short plat.
As you know, the construction work for the short plat's infrastructure improvements is
substantially complete, with final completion awaiting a punch list from the City's inspector and
resolving any matters that may be set forth on it. My client plans to install the street trees during
the latter half of September after the current summer weather has cooled. We have received and
discussed with City staff the City comments on our original submittal of the final short plat
application package and expect to make a second submittal of within the next two weeks.
Please email me a letter next week granting this request for a one-year extension. If you
have any questions or concerns relating to this request, please immediately phone me at (206) 443-
4684 or email me.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
Sincerely,
