Dear Sir or Madam,
The Gurudwara Singh Sabha of Renton Washington is formally requesting that an exemption be
granted for the placement of two statues of our priest warriors on temple grounds located at
5200 Talbot Rd. S. Renton WA.
These statues are religious symbols and represent a key part of our history and heritage. Over
the years the temple leadership has made continued efforts to connect our younger
congregation to the Sikh religion history, some examples of these efforts include Kids Summer
Camps, Sunday schools and most recently in the form of art that represent a physical reminder
and symbol of two of our religions greatest priest warriors.
The two statues will be placed on two foot high platforms on the either side of the entry to the
temple. Total height of the statues with the platforms will be 15ft. The platform will have a
width of 4ft and a length of 4ft. There will be no lighting or distracting displays. The statues will
be visible from the street, but do not pose a distraction to passing by motorist.
All proper signage and safety measures will be followed in the placement of the statues. One
metal fence will surround the platform. The statues are stationary.
