ORDER SETTING RESPONSE SCHEDULE
CODE18-000722
12 TO CITY'S MOTION TO DISMISS
13
14
Mr. Gooden: Accompanying this Order should be an email from the City requesting dismissal
15 of your appeal of the above-captioned case because your appeal was untimely. Before
16 considering the City's request, I must give you an opportunity to respond, which must conform
to the terms of the Order below. As noted in the appeal request signed and filed by you, appeals
17 must be filed with the City Clerk's office within 15 days of the date of the Finding of Violation.
This requirement is based upon Section 1-3-2E2a of the Renton Municipal Code, available on-
18 line, which provides that appeals "must be filed and served within fifteen (15) calendar days of
the issuance of the decision." The City asserts that you failed to file your appeal within 15 days
19 and for that reason your appeal should be dismissed. If you disagree with the City's position,
20 please file a written response as outlined below detailing your reasons as to why your appeal
should not be dismissed for untimeliness. Please be advised this is not the time to argue the merits
21 of your case, unless that is somehow relevant to the timeliness of your appeal.
