AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR THE NE 16TH ST -
JEFFERSON AVENUE NE STORMWATER GREEN CONNECTIONS
PROJECT, CAG-19-031
THIS AMENDMENT, dated May 9, 2019, is by and between the City of Renton (the "City"), a
Washington municipal corporation, and KPG, Inc. ("Consultant"), a Washington Corporation.The
City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the"Parties." Once fully
executed by the Parties,this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-19-031, dated
February 5, 2019, to provide necessary services for the NE 16th St — Jefferson Avenue NE
Stormwater Green Connections Project (referred to herein as the "Agreement");
Whereas,the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, and change the
compensation in order to provide design services for irrigation to be installed along NE 16th St
and Jefferson Avenue NE for the new plantings.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-19-031 is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work:Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit
A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $6,378.00 from $424,541.00 to
$430,919.00, plus any applicable state and local sales taxes.The additional compensation
shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts
specified in Exhibit B-1,which is attached and incorporated herein.
3. All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Agreement as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

SCOPE OF WORK—SUPPLEMENT 1
APRIL 24, 2019
A. PROJECT BACKGROUND/DESCRIPTION
The scope of work included in the consultant contract for the NE 16th—Jefferson Avenue
NE Stormwater Green Connections Project was developed based on the assumption that
irrigation for proposed planter strips and bioretention cells would not be included in the
design. Since that time, the decision has been made to irrigate these new vegetated
facilities.This supplemental scope of work provides for the design of the irrigation system.
B. SUPPLEMENTAL SCOPE OF WORK
Task 14—Irrigation System Design
This Task includes the effort required to design an irrigation system for proposed planter
strips and bioretention facilities NE 16th Street and Jefferson Avenue NE.
The following subtasks are anticipated:
14.1 The Consultant shall prepare 30% drawing(s) for the purpose of showing the
location of Point of Connection equipment, automatic controller location and
connection (or battery operated if required) and irrigation equipment schedule
with standard details.This task will also include a lump sum cost estimate for 30%
design submittal.
14.2 The consultant shall prepare 60%,90%and Bid Package irrigation plans and details
for review and approval by the City. Each submittal will address all comments
received from the previous design submittal review and written responses will be
provided.
14.3 Consultant will calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates for
the irrigation system in support of the 30%, 60%,90%and Bid Package submittals.
14.4 Consultant will prepare special provisions for the irrigation system based on 2018
WSDOT Standard Specifications for the 60%,90% and Bid Package submittals.

Task 14 Deliverables:
• 30%irrigation cost estimates will be incorporated into the 30%deliverables described
in Task 4.
• 60%, 90%and Bid Package plans, specifications and cost estimates will be submitted
as part of the Final Design deliverables described in Task 10.
■ Written responses to City review comments will be provided with each submittal.
Task 14 Assumptions:
• If an electrical connection is not available for the system and alternative such as
battery operated valve controls will be used.
