DATE: October 15, 2018
TO: Ed Prince, Council President
Members of Renton City Council
FROM: Denis Law, Mayor
Robert Harrison, Chief Administrative Officer
SUBJECT: Administrative Report
Inclement Weather Response Reminder: The Public Works Department would like
to remind residents to help us prevent local residential street flooding by monitoring
catch basins near your home and keeping them clear of leaves and other debris.
Street sweepers are dispatched daily to clean up debris along major arterials. Also,
snow is not far away. Please remember that during snow and ice events, the
department sanders and snow plows are dispatched to keep major arterials drivable.
Visit our website at rentonwa.gov/snowroutes to view our snow route maps. It is
imperative that motorists do not park or abandon their vehicles within any portion
of the traffic lanes. Abandoned vehicles impair snow and ice removal and impact
response of emergency vehicles.
Coffee with a Cop returns! The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down
barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas
and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the
officers in your neighborhood. The next Coffee with a Cop event will take place on
Saturday, October 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Starbucks, 17901 108th
Avenue SE in Renton.
Repairs at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park began October 1st. Both Ivar's and
Kidd Valley will remain open during construction. For your safety, obey all posted
signage in this area. Facility upgrades will continue through the 2018-2019
offseason.
