SUBJECT: April 2019 Sales Tax Distribution (February 2019 Activity)
Monthly comparisons (April)
April sales tax receipts (for February 2019 activity) were $1.9 million which is $63k (3.1%) below April 2018 and $62k (3.1%)
below the April 2019 budget.
Year‐to‐date comparisons (April)
2019 is currently $134k (1.5%) below 2018 and $184k (2.1%) over the annualized budget. See the five‐year‐to‐date
comparison and the historical trend information below:
Construction – The construction industry remains above the budget by $141k (11.9%) but again has fallen below the 2018
figures by $54k (4%). The industry appears to be trending slightly downwards compared to prior years.
Manufacturing – The manufacturing industry is currently above budget and 2018 activity by $1k (0.1%) and $63k (12.4%)
respectively.
Automotive – The automotive industry is below 2018 and budget figures for the last three months currently down $20k
(1.2%) of budget and $38k (2.4%) compared to 2018.
The annual budget‐by‐sector has been based upon the average of the previous five years proportionate to the overall
receipts. The monthly budget‐by‐sector is based upon the five‐year average by month, proportionate to the annual totals.
