HomeMy WebLinkAboutHandout - Draft Mission Statement �`t �°� z.oi �7 �c� Attachment F / Renton Community Parks and Neighborhood Connections Task Force DRAFT MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Task Force is to review the City's parks and trails systems and the Parks Plan, identify key gaps in city parks and trails and make recommendations on whether additional investment is appropriate and why.The Task Force shall consider geographic equity, capital costs and maintenance needs for existing and any expansion of facilities, current plans for improvements at Coulon Park, and the recommendations of the Civic Core committee.The Task Force shall identify criteria for projects to be funded, a proposed set of priority projects meeting those criteria, and shall make recommendations for a preferred funding source or sources. The Task Force shall deliver its report and recommendations to the Mayor and City Council no later than January 2018. • 24-26 member group, including representation from groups including: o Rep�esentatives from each of the 8 neighborhood planning areas o Parks Board o Civic Core group o Budget Advisory Committee o Multicultural advisory group(Inclusion Task Force} o Senior advisory group o Youth advisory group 0 8usiness community o Environmental/"Friends oY'organizations for local parks/trails o Arts commission o Planning commission • Independent facilitation • 7-9 meetings, beginning in September
