Check out http://rentonwa.gov/concerts for more information and the schedule of our upcoming concerts.  The Utility Systems Division’s Surface Water Utility has been awarded $6.15 million in grant funding from the King County Flood Control District and the Washington State Department of Ecology for the following projects and programs this month:  The King County Flood Control District approved a $5,000,000 funding agreement for the Cedar River Section 205 Levees Accreditation Project, which is currently being reviewed by the City Council.  The King County Flood Control District approved $635,000 for the Madsen Creek Flood Reduction Project to reduce the risk of flooding from Madsen Creek in the area of SR-169 and 149th Avenue SE.  The Washington State Department of Ecology awarded three water quality grants for a total amount of $515,000 to the city for the following projects and programs: o City of Renton Stormwater Facility Retrofit Study ($187,500) o Burnett Avenue South and Williams Avenue South Water Quality Retrofit Project ($277,500) o NPDES Municipal Stormwater Permit Capacity Grant ($50,000) Don Persson, Council President Members of Renton City Council Page 2 of 3 July 15, 2019  Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures will be at the following locations:  Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19. Road closure on South 14th Street between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction. Questions may be directed to Patrick DeCaro at 425-207-6013.  Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Intermittent northbound curb lane closures on Renton Avenue South between Taylor Avenue South and South 130th Street for utility and roadway construction. Questions may be directed to Michelle Faltaous at 425-430-7301 or Todd Freih at 206-999- 1832.  Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Intermittent lane closures on South 132nd Street for utility work. The northbound inside lane between 600 Oakesdale Avenue SW and Monster Road SW will be closed 24 hours per day for concrete repair work on an existing manhole.  Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single lane closure on East Valley Road between SW 19th Street and Taylor Avenue SW for the I-405 Direct Connector Project. One lane of East Valley Road will remain open with flaggers directing traffic through the worksite. Questions may be directed to Justin Johnson at 425-430-7291.  Wednesday, July 17, 2019, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The westbound inside lane at 3408 NE 4th Street will be closed for asphalt repair work on an existing manhole.  Monday, July 15 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Intermittent single and double lane closures along Logan Avenue North between North 6th Street and near Garden Avenue North in support of the King County Eastside Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation project. Full road closure on Burnett Avenue North at North 6th Street in support of the King County Eastside Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation project. Both the City of Renton and King County’s Wastewater Division have reached out to property owners along the approved detour route and to affected parties providing advanced notification of Don Persson, Council President Members of Renton City Council Page 3 of 3 July 15, 2019 the proposed road closure and detour route. In addition, notification was provided in the Renton Reporter and signage will be provided in the f ield prior to roadway closure.
