AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AGREEMENT FOR
MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS PLAN FOR COMMUNITY
SERVICES DEPARTMENT
THIS AMENDMENT, dated July 29, 2019, is by and between the City of Renton (the "City"), a
Washington municipal corporation, and Blue Sky Communications NW LLC ("Consultant"), a
Washington limited liability company. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in
this Amendment as the"Parties." Once fully executed by the Parties,this Amendment is effective
as of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-18-138,
executed 7/17/2018, to provide necessary services for the development and implementation of
a marketing and communications plan for the Community Services Department (referred to
herein as the "Agreement");
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to continue implementation of the 2019
communications plan for the Community Services Department, to extend the agreement from
June 30, 2019 to October 31, 2019, and to increase compensation by$20,000 in order to further
the Community Services Department's goal to increase internal and external communication of
available programs, services and activities.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that the Agreement is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to continue implementation of the
2019 communications plan for the Community Services Department, as specified in
Exhibit A-2, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2. Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, is amended pursuant to the
schedule(s) set forth in Exhibit A-2. All Work shall be performed by no later than October
31, 2019.
3. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $20,000 from $66,000 to $86,000,
plus any applicable state and local sales taxes.The additional compensation shall be paid
based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in
Exhibit A-2 of the Agreement.
4. All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Amendment as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

EXHIBIT A-2: SCOPE OF WORK
Objective — The objective of this contract amendment is to continue implementing a 2019
comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the respective divisions (Recreation &
Neighborhoods, Administration, Human Services, Parks Planning, Parks and Trails, Museum, Golf
Course, and Facilities) within Community Services, to include the following:
• Implementation 2019 comprehensive marketing/communications plan that will
proactively promote and share internally and externally, the work being done by the
Community Services divisions.
• Development of a monthly social media calendar that will strategically "tell the story" of
Community Services.
• Develop quarterly recaps that highlight the work, staff, community members who benefit
from the Community Service programs and events, such as "Faces of Renton", "Your Tax
Dollars at Work".
• Work with Divisions to identify potential media worthy stories and proactively pitch news
stories to media outlets.
• Identify current and new partners that will align with goals of Community Services, and
develop strategies for working with them,to create mutual benefits from the partnership.
• Review analytics of Community Services marketing platforms efforts (website, Facebook,
digital guide of "What's Happening", etc.) to assess and recommend continued or new
direction of efforts.
• Liaise with both the Community Services and Communications departments with the
direction of Community Services Administrator and attend meetings with both
departments.
• Liaise with City graphic designer.
• Assist in and advise on the continued re-branding of Recreation and Neighborhood
Division' quarterly recreation guide, "What's Happening" and the communication behind
the blending of What's Happening and Golden Opportunities.
• Attend weekly meetings with Community Services staff to update on work status and
discuss ongoing projects and needs.
• Provide monthly reporting with projects identified by division.
• Assist as needed with internal communication messaging.

Budget: (billed hourly, $125/hour—not to exceed $5,000 monthly)
