AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR THE HEATHER
DOWNS DETENTION POND WATER QUALITY RETROFIT PROJECT
THIS AMENDMENT, dated July 8, 2019, is by and between the City of Renton (the "City"), a
Washington municipal corporation, and The Louis Berger U.S., Inc. ("Consultant"), a New York
corporation. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the
"Parties." Once fully executed by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date
signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-19-023, dated
February 5, 2019, to provide necessary services for the Heather Downs Detention Pond Water
Quality Retrofit Project (referred to herein as the "Agreement");
Whereas,the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to include additional design services in order
to complete the work items listed in Exhibit A-1 Scope of Services.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-19-023 is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to include additional design
services as specified in Exhibit A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2. Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, is amended pursuant to the
schedule(s) set forth in Exhibit A-1. All Work shall be performed by no later than July 31,
2020.
3. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $8,018 from $111,600 to $119,618,
plus any applicable state and local sales taxes.The additional compensation shall be paid
based upon Work actual performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in
Exhibit B-1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
4. All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Agreement as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

Addendum No. 1
SCOPE OF WORK
6-27-19
Louis Berger is currently under contract with the City of Renton to perform preliminary and final design of
the Heather Downs Detention Pond Water Quality Retrofit project. The project is located at the
intersection of Union Ave SE and SE 4th Street and is intended to improve surface water quality for its
tributary basin. The project is partially funded through an Ecology grant to improve stormwater quality.
During preliminary design, the City CCTV'd a tributary storm drain along Union Ave SE and found some
pipe systems in need of repair/replacement.
The purpose of Addendum No. 1 is to add design of a replacement pipe system for the pipe segments
that were found to be in need of repair. Exhibit A-1.1 presents the storm drains to be replaced. The
design effort will be incorporated in the current pond retrofit design, although it is noted that the pipe
system is unlikely to be eligible for grant funding. The following paragraphs provide a scope of work and
supplement budget.
Scope of Services
The Addendum Scope of Services required is divided into the work tasks listed below and are described
in detail in the subsequent section.

General Project Assumptions:
l. The main contract assumptions apply to this addendum.
2. City will coordinate with SPU regarding locating and potholing City of Seattle Water Line in area.
3. City will provide all potholing required for the project.
Task 1 - Supplemental Project Management

Supplemental project management will include developing a subconsultant agreement and updated
work plan to add survey and design effort to incorporate it into the current design effort.
Task 3-Supplemental Survey and Base Mapping
The Consultant shall supplement the current survey base map to add the area shown on Exhibit A-1.1.
The survey will be performed with same information collected as set forth in the main contract area. This
will include retaining a private utility locator to paint and locate underground utilities.
Task 3 -Assumptions:
• Confined space entry will not be required.
• City will coordinate with SPU.
• City will coordinate all potholes.
Task 3 - Consultant Deliverables:
• Supplement survey area to be incorporated in main contract area CADD file.
Task 7- Supplemental Design, Construction Documents, and Cost Estimate
Adding the pipe system replacement will include adding a design sheet to the main contract drawing
set. It will include the pipe replacements plan and profile for the pipes shown on Exhibit A-1.1. City
standard details will be assumed for trenching and pavement repair. This work will include assisting in the
selection of where to pothole utilities and recommendations for the best pipe replacement alignment
considering the crossing of SPU's 36-inch diameter pipeline. Submittals will include a draft preferred
alignment plus 90%and final design to be incorporated into the main contract drawing set. Associated
specifications and cost estimates will also be incorporated into the main contract submittals.
Task 7 Assumptions
• Main contract assumptions apply.
• No new sidewalks or ADA compliance is required in the supplement area.
• The work will not need a continuous base map between the two work areas.
Task 7 Deliverables
• Preferred alignment sketch for City review.
• Supplement work will be in the main contract 90%and final design submittals
Project Fee:
For performing the supplemental work as described above in the Scope of Work,Consultant has
estimated a total contract fee of$8,018. The estimate is included as Exhibit B-1. The fee is based upon
Consultant billing rates times an estimate of the number of hours. The overall project fee shall not be

exceeded without prior written authorization from the City. Should the City request additional services
beyond the Scope of Work,this effort and cost shall be agreed upon and approved by the City.
Estimates within specific tasks are estimates of level of effort and may vary between tasks.
Project Schedule:
Consultant will perform the work in order to complete the supplemental scope of work incorporated
into the main contract schedule
