NOTES
1. A minimum 6 —inch vertical separation shall be provided at utility crossings, unless noted
otherwise on the plans or as allowed by the Engineer. Utility crossing locations and elevations
shall be determined by the contractor in advance of any construction activities.
2. The Contractor shall confirm using smoke, dye, or other testing methods whether pipes noted
on the plans as abandoned are in fact not being used. Pipes confirmed as abandoned shall be
plugged as noted. Pipes found to be active shall be connected to new structures at no additional
cost. All such testing shall be incidental to the other contract pay items.
3. All removed items of recoverable value shall be carefully salvaged and delivered to the Owner
in good condition and as directed by the Engineer. Materials and items deemed of no value by the
Engineer shall be removed by the Contractor and become the Contractor's property to be
disposed of in accordance with the contract.
4. All work within the City of Seattle's Cedar River pipeline right —of —way located parallel to and
adjacent to S. 2nd Street shall be done in accordance with the conditions and requirements of the
City of Seattle. Any costs incurred shall be incidental and included within the bid prices in the
contract. A minimum of 48 hours notice shall be given to the Seattle Water Department prior to
the performance of any work within the pipeline right —of —way.
