EXISTING UTILITY NOTES A.) POWER, TELEPHONE, GAS, SEATTLE WATER, AND CABLE: EXISTING UTILITY LOCATIONS ARE SHOWN ON THE PLANS FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S INFORMATION. LOCATIONS OF THESE UTILITIES ARE APPROXIMATE AND ARE BASED ON RECORDS SUPPLIED FROM EACH UTILITY. THE DEPTH OF EACH OF THESE UTILITIES IS SHOWN ON THE PROFILE AND !S BASED ON TYPICAL LAYERING DEPTHS FOR EACH OF THESE UTILITIES. HOWEVER, THE ACTUAL DEPTH IS UNKNOWN AND WILL VARY SIGNIFICANTLY. B.) WATER: THE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL LOCATION OF THE EXISTING WATER MAINS AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS ARE APPROXIMATE AND BASED ON DISCUSSIONS WITH CITY STAFF, AND A SURVEY OF THE EXISTING VALVE LOCATIONS. C.) STORM: THE EXISTING STORM SYSTEM WITHIN NE SUNSET BOULEVARD IS EXTENSIVE; THUS, NUMEROUS STORM LINES COULD NOT BE ACCURATELY LOCATED. LOCATIONS OF CROSSINGS IDENTIFIED ON THE PLANS ARE BASED ON THE KNOWN LOCATION OF A NEARBY STORM FACILITY AND AN ASSUMED SLOPE. D.) UTILITY CONFLICTS WHICH MAY OCCUR DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RESOLVED IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER: - IF THE PROPOSED 18" SEWER TRUNK LINE CONFLICTS WITH ANY UTILITY, THE UTILITY COMPANY SHALL BE CONTACTED AND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THEM TO REALIGN THE CONFLICTING UTILITY. E.) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT A ONE -CALL UTILITY LOCATE SERVICE PRIOR TO AND DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE PROJECT ENGINEER AND THE UTILITY COMPANIES WHEN CONFLICTS OCCUR. F.) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE SEATTLE WATER DEPT PRIOR TO CROSSING EXISTING 36" WATER MAIN. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL REQUIREMENTS ESTABLISHED BY THE SEATTLE WATER DEPT FOR THIS CROSSING. 3. TEMPORARY STREET RESTORATION NOTES A.) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH ALL TRENCH CUTS AT THE END OF EACH WORKING DAY WITH A TEMPORARY ASPHALT PATCH, EXCEPT FOR THE LAST SECTION OF THE TRENCH WHICH CAN BE COVERED WITH STEEL SHEETS. THESE PATCHES SHALL BE COMPACTED WITH A ROLLER COMPACTOR TO A DENSITY WHICH WILL PROVIDE A SMOOTH, FIRM SURFACE FOR VEHICLES. THE PATCHES SHALL BE MAINTAINED DAILY THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT TO PREVENT POT HOLING AND RUTS FROM FORMING. ALL POTHOLES, RUTS, AND BUMPS MUST BE REPAIRED IF THE DEFECT EXCEEDS AN INCH IN DEPTH OR HEIGHT. B.) AT THE END OF EACH WORKING WEEK THE ENGINEER WILL INSPECT THE TEMPORARY PATCHES. IF THE TEMPORARY PATCHES DO NOT PROVIDE AN ADEQUATE DRIVING SURFACE, AS DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL THE PERMANENT PATCH AS NOTED ON THE DETAIL SHEET.
