WITHSTAND LOADS AND DEPTHS AS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS AND DETAILED''IN THE

FORCES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL, AT HIS OPTION, CHOOSE ONE OF THREE ALTERNATIVES FOR
RESISTING BUUYANCY UPLIFT FORCES. OPTION ONE SHALL CONSIST OF SELECTING A WETWELL
VAULT WITH WALLS THAT ARE MINIMUM 13° THICK. OPTION TWO SHALL CONSIST OF A
CONCRETE BASE POURED AT A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 36 ". OPTION THREE WILL BE 'ALLOWED
IF THE BASE OF THE MANHOLE IS SET ON BEDROCK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ANCHOR INTO
THE BEDROCK TO PROVIDE UPLIFT RESTRAINT FOR THE MANHOLE. CONTRACTOR SHALL
SUBSTANTIATE HIS PROPOSED ANCHORAGE INTO THE BEDROCK WITH CALCULATIONS STAMPED BY
A PE LICENSED IN WASHINGTON STATE.
6. DRYWELL' BUOYANCY SHALL BE RESISTED BY AN OVERSIZED FLOOR SLAB. EXTENDED FLOOR
MAY EITHER BE CAST AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE VAULT BOTTOM OR CAN BE SEPARATELY
CAST AFTER THE VAULT BOTTOM IS INSTALLED. EXTENSON TO BE DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND THE
LOADS TO BE ENCOUNTERED. IF EXTENSION IS TO BE CAST SEPARATELY, EXTENSION SHALL BE
ADEQUATELY SECURED TO THE VAULT BOTTOM. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE CALCULATIONS THAT
ARE STAMPED BY A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER LICENSED IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON.
