TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL NOTES 1. APPROVAL OF THIS TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL (TESC) PLAN DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN APPROVAL OF PERMANENT ROAD OR DRAINAGE DESIGN (E.G. SIZE AND LOCATION OF ROADS, PIPES, RESTRICTORS, CHANNELS, RETENTION FACILITIES, UTILITIES, ETC.) 2. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE TESC PLANS AND THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT, AND UPGRADING OF THESE TESC FACILITIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT/TESC SUPERVISOR UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IS APPROVED. 3. THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CLEARING LIMITS SHOWN ON THIS PLAN SHALL BE CLEARLY FLAGGED BY A CONTINUOUS LENGTH OF SURVEY TAPE (OR FENCING, IF REQUIRED) PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD, NO DISTURBANCE BEYOND THE CLEARING LIMITS SHALL BE PERMITTED. THE CLEARING LIMITS SHALL BE MAINTAINED BY THE APPLICANT/TESC SUPERVISOR FOR THE DURATION OF CONSTRUCTION. 4. THE TESC FACILITIES SHOWN ON THIS PLAN MUST BE CONSTRUCTED PRIOR TO OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL CLEARING AND GRADING SO AS TO ENSURE THAT THE TRANSPORT OF SEDIMENT TO SURFACE WATERS, DRAINAGE SYSTEMS, AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES IS MINIMIZED, 5. THE TESC FACILITIES SHOWN ON THIS PLAN ARE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ANTICIPATED SITE CONDITIONS. DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD, THESE TESC FACILITIES SHALL BE UPGRADED AS NEEDED FOR UNEXPECTED STORM EVENTS AND MODIFIED TO ACCOUNT FOR CHANGING SITE CONDITIONS (E.G., ADDITIONAL SUMP PUMPS, RELOCATION OF DITCHES AND SILT FENCES, ETC.). 6. THE TESC FACILITIES SHALL BE INSPECTED DAILY BY THE APPLICANT/TESC SUPERVISOR AND MAINTAINED TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTIONING. WRITTEN RECORDS SHALL BE KEPT OF WEEKLY REVIEWS OF THE TESC FACILITIES DURING THE WET SEASON (OCT. 1 TO MARCH 31) AND OF MONTHLY REVIEWS DURING THE DRY SEASON (APRIL 1 TO SEPT. 30). 7. ANY AREAS OF EXPOSED SOILS, INCLUDING ROADWAY EMBANKMENTS, THAT WILL NOT BE DISTURBED FOR TWO DAYS DURING THE WET SEASON OR SEVEN DAYS DURING THE DRY SEASON SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY STABILIZED WITH THE APPROVED TESC METHODS (E.G., SEEDING, MULCHING, PLASTIC COVERING, ETC.). 8. ANY AREA NEEDING TESC MEASURES, NOT REQUIRING IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, SHALL BE ADDRESSED WITHIN FIFTEEN (15) DAYS. 9. THE TESC FACILITIES ON INACTIVE SITES SHALL BE INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED A MINIMUM OF ONCE A MONTH OR WITHIN 48 HOURS FOLLOWING A STORM EVENT. 10. AT NO TIME SHALL MORE THAN ONE (1) FOOT OF SEDIMENT BE ALLOWED TO ACCUMULATE WITHIN A CATCH BASIN. ALL CATCH BASINS AND CONVEYANCE LINES SHALL BE CLEANED PRIOR TO PAVING. THE CLEANING OPERATION SHALL NOT FLUSH SEDIMENT -LADEN WATER INTO THE DOWNSTREAM SYSTEM. 11. STABILIZED CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES AND ROADS SHALL BE INSTALLED AT THE BEGINNING OF _ CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTAINED FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT. ADDITIONAL MEASURES, SUCH AS WASH PADS, MAY BE REQUIRED TO ENSURE THAT ALL PAVED AREAS ARE KEPT CLEAN FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT. 12. ANY PERMANENT RETENTION /DETENTION FACILITY USED AS A TEMPORARY SETTLING BASIN SHALL BE MODIFIED WITH THE NECESSARY EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AND SHALL PROVIDE ADEQUATE STORAGE CAPACITY. IF THE PERMANENT FACILITY IS TO FUNCTION ULTIMATELY AS AN INFILTRATION SYSTEM, THE TEMPORARY FACILITY MUST BE GRADED SO THAT THE BOTTOM AND SIDES ARE AT LEAST ONE FOOT ABOVE THE FINAL GRADE OF THE PERMANENT FACILITY. 13. WHERE STRAW MULCH FOR TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL IS REQUIRED, IT SHALL BE APPLIED AT A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 2" - V% "FINAL GEOTECHNICAL REPORT, RENTON STONEGATE 11 SEWER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT" Q PREPARED BY HWA GEOSCIENCES, INC., DATED NOVEMBER 7, 2008, ALSO, ADDENDUM #1 FOR THE REPORT, DATED MAY 20, 2009. THIS REPORT AND ADDENDUM ARE AVAILABLE FOR REFERENCE AND DESIGN PURPOSES ONLY, AND ARE AVAILABLE AT THE CITY OF RENTON PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OR ONLINE AT THE BUILDER'S EXCHANGE WEBSITE FOR REVIEW. SITE NOTES: 1. CONTRACTORS LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DEWATERING HA AND IMPLEMENTING AN APPROPRIATE PLAN FOR THE EXCAVATION, PLAN SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ANY APPLICABLE GEOTECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL DISCHARGE ALL PUMPED GROUNDWATER IN SUCH A MANNER THAT ALL SEDIMENT IS CONTAINED WITHIN THE PROJECT LIMITS. ALL DRAINAGE LEAVING THE SITE AS A RESULT OF DEWATERING SHALL BE DISCHARGED WITHIN AN EXISTING NATURAL DRAINAGE COURSE OR TO AN EXISTING T X STING S ORM DRAIN AND SHALL MEET CURRENT WATER QUALITY STANDARDS FOR SAID DISCHARGES. CONTRACTOR SHALL APPLY FOR AND OBTAIN ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIRED PEIRMIT(S) TO PERFORM THIS WORK. 2. ALL EXCAVATION WORK SHALL BE DONE IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO NOT IMPACT PROPERTY AND STRUCTURES OUTSIDE EASEMENTS. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TEMPORARY SHORING THAT MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE EXCAVATION. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT NECESSARY PLANS AND CALCULATIONS COMPLETED BY A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER LICENSED IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SITE SAFETY, INCLUDING PROPER EXCAVATION AND SHORING METHODS, AND PROTECTION OF ADJACENT PROPERTIES. 3. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL DEWATERING ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH REMOVING ANY ADDITIONAL WATER WHICH ENTERS THE LIFT STATION EXCAVATION THROUGH AND /OR RESULTING FROM THE EXISTING AND PROPOSED GRAVITY SEWER AND FORCE MAIN TRENCHES UPSTREAM OF THE LIFT STATION, THERE MAY BE A LARGE VOLUME OF UPSTREAM WATER FROM TRENCHES EN HES ADJACENT TO EXISTING STONEGATE LS, INCLUDING SPRING FLOW. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING WATER AND LIMITING DISCHARGE TO DOWNSTREAM EXCAVATIONS. FRENCH DRAIN SHOWN ON SHT.
