1. THE CONSTRUCTION CHANNEUZATION SHOWN AND THE CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCING
LISTED IN STAGE 1, 2, & 3 GENERAL NOTES ON THIS SHEET IS INTENDED TO
DEMONSTRATE A POSSIBLE GENERAL COURSE OF ACTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
DEVELOP PHASING SUITABLE TO THEIR OPERATION AND SUBMIT FOR REVIEW VIA
THE SCHEDULE AND THEIR TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN.
2. THE CONSTRUCTION CHANNELIZATION SHOWN IS INTENDED TO MEET THE MINIMUM
LANE REQUIREMENTS DURING DAYTIME HOURS. THE NUMBER OF LANES AND TURN
POCKET LENGTHS SHOWN MAY NOT BE REDUCED DURING THESE HOURS. WORK TO
BE PERFORMED OUTSIDE THE THREE WORKZONES SHOWN SHALL BE COMPLETED
AT NIGHT. DURING NIGHT WORK, LANE REQUIREMENTS MAY BE TEMPORARILY
REDUCED TO 1 LANE IN EACH DIRECTION. DRIVING SURFACES AND DAYTIME
CHANNELIZATION ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE REESTABLISHED PRIOR TO DAYTIME
HOURS. TRAFFIC CONTROL CONFIGURATIONS FOR NIGHT WORK ARE NOT SHOWN
ON THESE PLANS. TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS FOR NIGHTWORK MUST BE
SUBMITTED TO THE ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL.
3. ALL EXISTING AND FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS, INCLUDING UTILITIES, ARE NOT SHOWN
ON THIS DRAWING. FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, SEE APPLICABLE CONTRACT
DRAWINGS. THIS PLAN DEPICTS GENERAL CONSTRUCTION CHANNELIZATION ONLY.
4. CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES NOT SPECIFICALLY SEQUENCED SHALL BE CONDUCTED
IN A MANNER TO MINIMIZE PUBLIC IMPACT. FULL PROGRESS SCHEDULES IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1 -08.3 OF THE SPECIFICATIONS ARE NECESSARY FOR
ITEMS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, STORM DRAINS, UTILITY TRENCHING AND
OTHER ITEMS AFFECTING TRAFFIC OR AGENCY COORDINATION.
5. ALL CHANNEUZA110N SHOWN IS SCHEMATIC ONLY. DETAILED TRAFFIC CONTROL
PLANS CONFORMING TO THE MUTCD AND WSDOT STANDARD PLANS SHALL BE
SUBMITTED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR APPROVAL BY THE ENGINEER AT LEAST
(14) DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY CONSTRUCTION STAGE (71 -10).
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN EXISTING DRAINAGE, WATER, AND UTILITY SYSTEMS
OR CONSTRUCT TEMPORARY SYSTEMS UNTIL FINAL SYSTEMS ARE FULLY
OPERATIONAL
7. PROJECT SIGNS SHALL BE PLACED AT BOTH THE NORTH AND SOUTH
CONSTRUCTION LIMITS (COORDINATE EXACT LOCATION WITH THE ENGINEER).
"BUSINESS OPEN DURING CONSTRUCTION" SIGNS SHALL BE PLACED AT BUSINESS
ACCESSES AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS. THE SIGNS SHALL BE USED DURING ALL
CONSTRUCTION PHASES. SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR DETAILS OF 'BUSINESSES OPEN
DURING CONSTRUCTION" AND PROJECT SIGNS (SP1 -10).
8. TRAFFIC SAFETY DRUMS SHALL BE SPACED AT 35 FT. MAXIMUM INTERVALS ON
CENTERS. FLASHERS SHALL BE MOUNTED ON ALTERNATING DRUMS. ADDITIONAL
DRUMS AT CLOSER SPACING WILL BE REQUIRED AT INTERSECTIONS AND
DRIVEWAYS TO SAFELY CHANNELIZE THE TRAFFIC.
