THE DESIGN OF THE 108 INCH DIAMETER SOUTH INTERCEPTOR PARALLEL ACCOMODATES A FUTURE EXTENSION OF THE P -1 CHANNEL BY CONSTRUCTING A LOW HEAD BOX STRUCTURE. THIS STRUCTURE IS PROVIDED AT THE SAME LOCATION AS THE LOW HEAD STRUCTURE LOCATED ON THE EXISTING 72 INCH DIAMETER SOUTH INTERCEPTOR. 5. THE BOEING COMPANY HAS A PROJECT (THE CSTC SITE DEVELOPMENT) THAT WILL BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION CONCURRENTLY IN PARCEL 1 (SEE LOCATION MAP, SHEET 1). UTILITIES THAT WILL BE CONSTRUCTED UNDER THAT CONTRACT ARE SHOWN AS PROPOSED ON THE PIPE PROFILES. THESE PROPOSED UTILITIES ARE NOT SHOWN ON THE PLAN SHEETS. ALL UTILITIES NOT MARKED PROPOSED OR 3 FUTURE ARE EXISTING. 6. WETLAND BOUNDARIES SHOWN ON THE PLANS WERE DEVELOPED USING THE JANUARY 1989 FEDERAL MANUAL FOR IDENTIFYING AND DELINEATING JURISDICTIONAL WETLANDS. 7. A COPY OF ALL DESIGN STANDARDS SPECIFIED FOR USE ON -SITE SHALL BE AVAILABLE IN THE CONTRACTOR'S OFFICE AT ALL TIMES. 8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN TEMPORARY SEDIMENTATION COLLECTION AND EROSION CONTROL FACILITIES AND POLICIES, TO ENSURE THAT EROSION OF THE SITE DOES NOT OCCUR AND THAT SEDIMENT -LADEN WATER DOES NOT LEAVE THE SITE. FACILITIES AND POLICIES SHALL BE ADJUSTED AS SEASONAL CHANGES OCCUR AND AS SITE CONDITIONS CHANGE. 9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE CONTINUAL, RATHER THAN PERIODIC, MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING OF THE WORK AREAS, THE ROADS AND FACILITIES USED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND HIS SUBCONTRACTORS, AND THOSE PORTIONS OF THE CONTRACTOR'S YARD AND THE LAY -DOWN AREA USED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND HIS SUBCONTRACTORS. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREVENT CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS FROM ENTERING NEARBY WATERWAYS AND WETLAND AREAS. 2 11. CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT SHALL BE CONTINUOUSLY MAINTAINED IN TOP WORKING ORDER AND FREE FROM LEAKING FLUIDS. EQUIPMENT WHICH, IN THE SOLE OPINION OF THE ENGINEER IS IN POOR OPERATING CONDITION, SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENGINEER. 12. CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT SHALL BE SERVICED AND MAINTAINED ONLY WITHIN AREAS APPROVED FOR THAT PURPOSE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE ENGINEER A REQUEST SHOWING THE AREA REQUESTED AND THE PROVISIONS TO BE MADE FOR BERMING COLLECTING WASTE OIL. AND PREVENTING RUNOFF OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS INTO THE SURROUNDING AREAS. , 13. PIPES ENCOUNTERED DURING DEMOLITION SHALL BE TRACED OUT AND REMOVED OR SUPPORTED AS REQUIRED DURING CONSTRUCTION. 14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A DETAILED PLAN FOR CONTROLLING DUST ON THE SITE, TO BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER. 15. POWER POLES AND TELEPHONE POLES WITHIN THE EASEMENT WHICH CONFLICT WITH PIPE OR STRUCTURE INSTALLATION SHALL BE REMOVED BY THE CONTRACTOR. OVERHEAD POWER AND TELEPHONE LINES WILL BE 1 RELOCATED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN AREAS SHOWN ON THE PLANS. CONTRACTOR WILL COORDINATE WORK WITH THE AFFECTED UTILITIES. ALL WORK PERFORMED BY THE UTILITIES SHALL BE AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE. HIGH VOLTAGE POWER WILL REMAIN IN PLACE NEAR THE PIPELINE - CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE MEASURES TO PROTECT WORKERS AND POWER LINES. 16. BEFORE ANY CONSTRUCTION OR DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY OCCURS, A PRE - CONSTRUCTION MEETING MUST BE HELD WITH THE CITY OF RENTON DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND THE ENGINEER. ROCK FOR EROSION PROTECTION WHERE REQUIRED, SHALL BE SOUND QUARRY ROCK PLACED TO A DEPTH OF i FOOT AND MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS: 4 " -8" ROCK /40 % -70% PASSING; 2 " -4" ROCK /30% -40% PASSING; AND -2" ROCK /10 % -20% PASSING. 19. ISSUANCE OF THE BUILDING OR CONSTRUCTION PERMIT BY THE CITY OF RENTON DOES NOT RELIEVE THE OWNER OF THE CONTINUING LEGAL OBLIGATION AND /OR LIABILITY CONNECTED WITH STORM SURFACE WATER DISPOSITION. FURTHER, THE CITY OF RENTON DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY 013UGA11ON FOR THE PROPER FUNCTIONING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE SYSTEM PROVIDED DURING CONSTRUCTION. 20. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING ADEQUATE SAFEGUARD, SAFETY DEVICES, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, FLAGGERS, AND ANY OTHER NEEDED ACTIONS TO PROTECT THE LIFE, HEALTH, AND SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC, AND TO PROTECT PROPERTY IN CONNECTION WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF WORK COVERED BY THE CONTRACT. ANY WORK WITHIN THE TRAVELED RIGHT -OF -WAY THAT MAY INTERRUPT NORMAL TRAFFIC FLOW SHALL REQUIRE AN APPROVED TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN BY THE TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CITY OF RENTON. 21.
