ORDINANCE NO.2 1
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY OF THE CITY OF RENTON
(PERKINS ANNEXATION;FILE NO.A-05-006)
WHEREAS,under the provisions ofRCW 35A14.120 as amended,a petition in writing
requesting that certain territory contiguous to the City of Renton,as described below,be annexed
to the City of Renton,was presented and filed with the City Clerk on or about September 28,
2005;and
WHEREAS,prior to the filing and circulation of said petition for annexation to the City
ofRenton,the petitioning owners notified the City Council oftheir intention to commence such
proceedings as provided by law,as more particularly specified in RCW 35 A.14 .120,and upon
public hearing thereon,it having been determined and the petitioning owners having agreed to
assume their fair share ofthe pre-existing outstanding indebtedness ofthe City ofRenton as it
pertains to the territory petitioned to be annexed;and to accept that portion of the City's
Comprehensive Plan as it pertains to the territory including the applicable Zoning Code relating
thereto;and
WHEREAS,the King County Department of Assessments has examined and verified on
December 22,2005,the signatures on the petition for annexation and determined that the
signatures represent at least sixty percent (600/0)ofthe assessed value (excluding streets)of the
area to be annexed,as provided by law;and
WHEREAS,the Economic Development,Neighborhoods and Strategic Planning
Department of the City of Renton has considered and recommended the annexing of said
property to the City of Renton;and

WHEREAS,the City Council fixed February 19,2007,as the time and place for public
hearing in the City Council Chambers,City Hall,Renton,Washington,upon the petition and
notice thereof having been given as provided by law;and
WHEREAS,pursuant to said notices,public hearings have been held at the time and
place specified in the notices,and the Council have considered all matters in connection with the
petition and further determined that all legal requirements and procedures of the law applicable
to the petition method for annexation have been met;and
WHEREAS,the King County Boundary Review Board have deemed the "Notice of
Intention"approved as of December 14,2006;and
WHEREAS,the City of Renton is concurrently zoning the annexation site R-4,four
dwelling units per net acre,and R-8,eight dwelling units per net acre;
NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON,DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.All requirements of the law in regard to the annexation by petition
method,including the provisions ofRCW 35A.]4.120,130,140 and 150,have been met.It is
further determined that the petition for annexation to the City of Renton ofthe property and
territory described below is hereby approved and granted;the following described property being
contiguous to the City limits of the City of Renton is hereby annexed to the City of Renton,and
such annexation shall be effective five days after publication of this Ordinance;and on and after
said date the property shall constitute a part of the City ofRenton and shall be subject to all its
laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force and effect;the property being described as
follows:

[Said property,approximately 15.47 acres in area,.is generally located along and
south of SE 95 th Place,if extended,and mostly west of Union Avenue NE (132nd
Avenue SE)]
and the owners of the property within the annexation shall assume their fair share of the
outstanding indebtedness of the City of Renton as prescribed in RCW 35 A 14.120 as it pertains
to the property,and the property shall be subject to the City's Comprehensive Plan and Zoning
Code.
SECTION It

This Ordinance shan be effective upon its passage,approval,and

Washington,and as otherwise provided by law.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
The north 491.24 feet of the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 4,
Township 23 North,Range 5 East,W.M.,in King County,Washington;EXCEPT that
portion of the east 30 feet thereoflying southerly of the existing City Limits of Renton,as
annexed by Ordinance No.4195;
TOGETHER WITH that portion of the west 30 feet (132IJd Ave SE)of the northwest
quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 3,Township 23 North,Range 5 East,W.M.,in
King County,Washington lying northerly of the existing City Limits of Renton,as
annexed by Ordinance No.4195;and TOGETHER WITH the south 120 feetofthe north
384 feet of the east 181.5 feet of the west 211.5 feet of said northwest quarter of the
northwest quarter.
