HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 5207Amends ORD 5142 Amended by ORD 5266 CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO.5207 Q\o \0 8 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON, ~AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.5142 BY CHANGING THE TIMING ~FOR EFFECTUATING PHASE II OF THE MERRITT II ~ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF RENTON (MERRITT II 8 ANNEXATION;FILE NO.A-03-0(3) N "*'gp WHEREAS,in Ordinance 5142,the effective date of the Merritt II annexation to oM '"d 5 the City of Renton,Phase II of the annexation has to be twelve (12)months after theu ill 1Y! adoption ofthat ordinance;and WHEREAS,Ordinance 5142 became effective on June 1,2005,five days after its publication;and WHEREAS,Phase II would become part of the City of Renton on,or about June 1,2006,unless Ordinance 5142 is amended;and WHEREAS,it is necessary to extend the effective date of Phase II of the Merritt II annexation; NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I.Properties within Phase II (see Exhibit A)shall constitute a part of the City of Renton on March 31,2007,and shall be subject to all its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force and effect;the property being described as follows: See Exhibit A attached hereto,and made a part here of as if fully set forth herein. 1 ORDINANCE NO.5207 [Said property,approximately 47.93 acres,is primarily located in the West Ih of Section 3,Township 23 North, Range 5 East,of the 133-acre expanded annexation area.The northern portion of this phase is located in the West Y:!of Section 34, Township 24 North,Range 5 East.] SECTIONn.This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage,approval, and five days after its publication. A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the King County Council,State of Washington,and as otherwise provided by law.
