HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 5143CITY OF RENTON,WASIDNGTON ORDINANCE NO.5143 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CfIY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON ESTABLISHING THE WNING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY ANNEXED WITHIN THE CfIY OF RENTON FROM R-l (URBAN RESIDENTIAL,1 DU PER ACRE,KING COUNTY WNING) TO R-l (RESIDENTIAL 1 DUlAC;ONE DWELLING UNIT PER ACRE) (MERRITT ll;FILE NO.A-03-003). WHEREAS,under Section 4.2.020 of Chapter 2,Zoning Districts -Uses and Standards, of Title IV (Development Regulations)of Ordinance No.4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City ofRenton,Washington,"as amended,and the maps and reports adopted in conjunction therewith,the property hereinbelow described has not been zoned in the City of Renton;and WHEREAS,said property owners petitioned the City of Renton for annexation and concurrent rezoning,which said annexation having previously been approved and the property annexed to the City of Renton,and the City having held two public hearings to consider a prezoning application,the first hearing being held on January 29,1997,and the second hearing being held on April 14,1997,and said zoning request being in conformity with the City's Comprehensive Plan,as amended,and the City Council having duly considered all matters relevant thereto,and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in opposition thereto; WHEREAS,the City Council,having updated its Comprehensive Plan on November 1, 2004,pursuant to Growth Management Act mandates,including changes that replaced the R-5 zone with the R-4 zone; 1 ORDINANCE NO.5143 NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTIONL The following described property in the City of Renton is hereby zoned to R-l as hereinbelow specified.The annual ordinance adopting the maps of the City's Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended to evidence said rezoning and the EDNSP Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance,as amended,to evidence said rezoning,to wit: See Exhibit "A",attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. [The property,consisting of approximately 67 acres,is located in the East ~of Section 3,Township 23 North,Range 5 East,south ofSE May Valley Road,east of Phase II (see Exhibit "B"attached hereto.] SECTIONR.This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage,approval, and five days after its publication.
