ALL WORK MATERIAL SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CIN OF RENTON PLANNING/BUILDING/PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND THE LATEST EDITION OF THE WSDOT/APWA STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AS APPROVED AND MODIFIED BY THE CIN OF RENTON IN THE RENTON STANDARD PLANS & SPECIFICATIONS. A SET OF APPROVED PLANS SHALL BE KEPT ON SITE AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION. 2. A COPY OF THE APPROVED PLANS MUST BE ON SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS. 3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL PERMITS REQUIRED FOR WORK WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. 4. PAVED SURFACES INCLUDING ROADWAYS, SIDEWALKS, AND CURBS THAT ARE DAMAGED BY NEW CONSTRUCTION IN PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY SHALL BE REPAIRED AS REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF RENTON INSPECTOR. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DISPATCHER TWENTY-FOUR (24) HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ALL WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, HYDRANT SHUTOFFS, AND STREET CLOSURES OR OTHER ACCESS BLOCKAGE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO NOTIFY THE DISPATCHER OF ALL NEW, RELOCATED, OR ELIMINATED HYDRANTS RESULTING FROM THIS WORK. 6. ALL LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES SHOWN HEREON HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED BY FIELD SURVEY OR OBTAINED FROM AVAILABLE RECORDS AND SHOULD THEREFORE BE CONSIDERED APPROXIMATE ONLY AND NOT NECESSARILY COMPLETE. IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF ALL UTILITY LOCATIONS SHOWN AND TO FURTHER DISCOVER AND AVOID ANY OTHER UTILITIES NOT SHOWN HEREON WHICH MAY BE AFFECTED BY THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS PLAN. 7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE AND PROTECT ALL CASTINGS AND UTILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION AND SHALL CONTACT THE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES LOCATOR SERVICE (1-800-424-5555) AT LEAST 72 HOURS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. 8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST ALL EXISTING MAINTENANCE HOLE RIMS, DRAINAGE STRUCTURE LIDS, VALVE BOXES, AND UTILITY ACCESS STRUCTURES TO FINISH GRADE WITHIN AREAS AFFECTED BY THE IMPROVEMENTS. 9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE FOR ALL COMPACTION TESTS REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF RENTON INSPECTOR FOR WORK WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. 10. BACKFILL MATERIAL USED IN PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY SHALL MEET CITY OF RENTON STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE CITY OF RENTON. 11. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF ALL WORK IN PUBLIC STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CITY OF RENTON. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO COORDINATE AND SCHEDULE APPROPRIATE INSPECTIONS, ALLOWING PROPER ADVANCE NOTICE. THE INSPECTOR MAY REQUIRE RECONSTRUCTION OF ITEMS THAT DO NOT MEET AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION (AHJ) STANDARDS OR THAT WERE CONSTRUCTED WITHOUT INSPECTION. ANY RECONSTRUCTION SHALL BE AT CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. 12. ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MANUAL. A CITY OF RENTON APPROVED TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF PERMIT. 13. CARE SHALL BE EXERCISED WHEN EXCAVATING NEAR ANY EXISTING UTILITY LI N ES. 14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT CONSTRUCTION HAUL ROUTES TO CITY OF RENTON PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. 15. PERMIT NUMBER: U13000867 TESC NOTES 1. CONSTRUCTION EROSION CONTROL MEASURES MUST BE IN PLACE AND APPROVED BY THE CITY OF RENTON INSPECTOR PRIOR TO ANY EARTH DISTURBANCE. 2. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL (TESC) PLANS AND THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT AND UPGRADING OF THE TESC FACILITIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IS APPROVED AND SITE IS PERMANENTLY STABILIZED. 3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN TEMPORARY SEDIMENTATION COLLECTION FACILITIES TO ENSURE THAT SEDIMENT -LADEN WATER DOES NOT ENTER THE PUBLIC DRAINAGE SYSTEM. AS CONSTRUCTION PROGRESSES AND UNEXPECTED (SEASONAL) CONDITIONS DICTATE, MORE SILTATION CONTROL FACILITIES MAY BE REQUIRED TO ENSURE COMPLETE SILTATION CONTROL OF THE PROJECT. THEREFORE, DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION IT SHALL BE THE OBLIGATION AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO ADDRESS ANY NEW CONDITIONS THAT MAY BE CREATED BY HIS/HER ACTIVITIES AND TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FACILITIES THAT MAY BE NEEDED TO PROTECT ADJACENT PROPERTIES. 4. THE TESC FACILITIES SHOWN ON THE PLANS MUST BE CONSTRUCTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL DEMOLITION, CLEARING, AND GRADING ACTIVITIES, AND IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO ENSURE THAT SEDIMENT LADEN WATER DOES NOT LEAVE THE SITE, ENTER THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM, OR VIOLATE APPLICABLE WATER STANDARDS. 5. DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD, THE TESC FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED AND UPGRADED (E.G. ADDITIONAL SUMPS, RELOCATION OF DITCHES, PORTABLE TANKS AND SILT FENCES, ETC.) ArS NEEDED SO AS NOT TO VIOLATE APPLICABLE WATER STANDARDS. 6. ALL TESC FACILITIES SHALL CONFORM TO THE BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES LISTED IN THE CITY OF RENTON EROSION CONTROL NOTES. 7. NO SEDIMENT SHALL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER ANY CATCH BASIN WITHIN THE PROJECT AREA. IN THE EVENT OF A FAILURE OF THE TESC PLAN THAT RESULTS IN SEDIMENT ENTERING A CATCH BASIN, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL SUCH SEDIMENT IMMEDIATELY. 8. DISTURBED SOILS THAT ARE EXPOSED TO SURFACE RUNOFF SHALL BE STABILIZED WITH TESC MEASURES AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY OF RENTON. 9. THE TESC FACILITIES SHALL BE INSPECTED DAILY BY THE CONTRACTOR AND MAINTAINED AS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THEIR CONTINUED FUNCTIONING. 10. CATCH BASINS IN THE STREET OR ON-SITE SHALL BE INSPECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR DAILY. WATER LEAVING THE SITE DURING CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDING WATER CARRIED BY TRUCKS, SHALL BE CLEAN. THE CONTRACTOR S HALL CLEAN CITY CATCH BASINS AND IMPLEMENT EXTRA SEDIMENTATION CONTROL MEASURES IF NECESSARY AND AS DIRECTED BY THE RENTON INSPECTOR AT NO ADDITIONAL EXPENSE TO OWNER. 11. THE TESC FACILITIES ON INACTIVE SITES SHALL BE INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED DAILY AND WITHIN 24 HOURS FOLLOWING A STORM EVENT. 12. PROTECT STOCKPILES FROM WET WEATHER AND CONTAMINATION FROM OTHER SOURCES. PROVIDE DUST CONTROL MEASURES AND STOCKPILE PROTECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF RENTON REQUIREMENTS. STOCKPILES THAT BECOME UNSUITABLE DUE TO LACK OF PROTECTION MEASURES SHALL BE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF AND REPLACED AT CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. 13. THE TESC MEASURES SHOWN ON THE PLANS ARE FOR CITY OF RENTON PERMITTING PURPOSES ONLY. THE CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL MEANS AND METHODS AND SEQUENCING OF TESC MEASURES AND ENSURING WATER QUALITY REQUIREMENTS ARE MET. EARTHWORK AND GRADING NOTES 1. NONCOMPLIANCE WITH EROSION CONTROL REQUIREMENTS, WATER QUALITY REQUIREMENTS, AND CLEARING LIMITS MAY RESULT IN REVOCATION OF PROJECT PERMITS, PLAN APPROVAL, AND BOND FORECLOSURES. 2. PRIOR TO ANY WORK INCLUDING GROUND DISTURBANCE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE CITY OF RENTON TO SCHEDULE A PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING. 3. PRIOR TO ANY SITE CONSTRUCTION (WHICH INCLUDES CLEARING/LOGGING, DEMOLITION, OR GRADING THE SITE), CLEARING LIMITS SHALL BE LOCATED AND FIELD IDENTIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR'S SURVEYOR. 4. ALL EARTHWORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF RENTON STANDARDS. 5. ALL STRUCTURAL FILLS SHALL BE COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM OF 95% OF MAXIMUM DENSITY BY MODIFIED PROCTOR TEST UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INDICATED OTHERWISE IN THE SPECIFICATIONS. 6. APPROVAL BY CITY OF RENTON OF THE DRAINAGE AND TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL PLANS DOES NOT INCLUDE APPROVAL OF THE GRADING ACTIVITIES SHOWN HEREIN. GRADING ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY REQUIRES A PERMIT FROM CITY OF RENTON. GRADING ACTIVITIES ON ADJACENT PROPERTIES REQUIRES WRITTEN APPROVAL BY THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER. 7. GRADING AND EXPOSED SOILS MUST BE STABILIZED BY OCTOBER 15TH AND NO EXCAVATION TO BE PERFORMED BETWEEN OCTOBER 31 ST AND APRIL 1 ST UNLESS CONTRACTOR HAS OBTAINED WRITTEN APPROVAL BY CITY OF RENTON. STORM DRAINAGE NOTES 1. PROVIDE STORM DRAIN STENCILING IN PAVEMENT AT ALL STORM DRAIN CATCH BASINS, INLETS AND AREA DRAINS THAT ARE IN OR WITHIN ONE FOOT OF A PAVED AREA. STENCILING SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PUBLIC AGENCY STANDARDS. INFILTRA11ON AND LID FACILMES PROTECTION NOTES 1. MAINTAIN AND UPGRADE EXISTING PROTECTION AND FLOW DIVERSION MEASURES. REDIRECT SHEET FLOW, BLOCK DRAIN INLETS AND/OR CURB OPENINGS IN PAVEMENT AND INSTALL FLOW DIVERSION MEASURES TO PREVENT CONSTRUCTION SILT LADEN WATER AND DEBRIS FROM ENTERING ROADSIDE BIORETENTION FACILITIES AND POROUS PAVEMENTS. 2.
