ORDINANCE NO. 4939
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM THE P-l
(PUBLIC USE) ZONE TO RESOURCE CONSERVATION (RC) ZONE,
WITH A P-SUFFIX DESIGNATION. (STATE OF WASHINGTON
PROPERTY REZONE, FILE NO. LUA-01-139.)
WHEREAS, under Section 4.2.020 of Chapter 2, Land Use Districts, of Title IV
(Development Regulations) of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton, Washington," as amended, and the maps and reports adopted in conjunction
therewith, the property hereinbelow described has heretofore been zoned as P-l (Public Use);
and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton initiated a proceeding for change of zone classification
of said property on or about August 31, 2001. This matter was duly referred to the Hearing
Examiner for investigation, study, and public hearing, and a public hearing having been held
thereon on or about November 6, 2001, and said matter having been duly considered by the
Hearing Examiner, and said zoning request having been recommended for approval without
conditions by the Hearing Examiner or by the Environmental Review Committee, and no
requests for reconsideration or appeals having been received during the appeal period that ended
December 4, 2001; and
WHEREAS, said zoning request being in conformity with the City's Comprehensive
Plan, as amended by Ordinance No. 4855, and the City Council having duly considered all
matters relevant thereto, and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in
opposition thereto;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The following described property in the City of Renton is hereby
rezoned to Resource Conservation (RC) Zone, with a P-suffix designation, as hereinbelow
specified. The Economic Development, Neighborhoods, and Strategic Planning Administrator is
hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to
evidence said rezoning, to wit:
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein.
(A remnant 20,625 square foot site located on the south side of the Cedar River
between the eastern edge of the 1-405 right-of-way on the west and the Cedar
River Trail on the east.)
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and
five days after publication.

P-l REZONE
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
That portion of the former Burlington Northern Railroad Company (previously known as
Pacific Coast Railroad Company) right-of-way and that portion of the Black-Diamond
Branch of the Columbia & Puget Sound Railroad Company right-of-way, said right-of-
way parcel being of variable width as now located and constructed upon, over and across
that part of the H.H. Tobin Donation Land Claim Number 37 and that part of
Government Lot 5, all in Section 17, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M., in the
City of Renton, King County, Washington, lying easterly of the easterly right-of-way line
of 1-405, westerly of the easterly line of said Donation Land Claim, northerly of the
northerly line of the 55-foot wide former Puget Sound Electric Railroad Company right-
of-way and southerly of the northerly line of said Burlington Northern Railroad
Company right-of-way.
