ORDINANCE NO. 4940
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM THE P-l
(PUBLIC USE) ZONE TO CENTER DOWNTOWN (CD) ZONE.

WHEREAS, under Section 4.2.020 of Chapter 2, Land Use Districts, of Title IV
(Development Regulations) of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton, Washington," as amended, and the maps and reports adopted in conjunction
therewith, the property hereinbelow described has heretofore been zoned as P-l (Public Use);
and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton initiated a proceeding for change of zone classification
of said property on or about August 31, 2001. This matter was duly referred to the Hearing
Examiner for investigation, study, and public hearing, and a public hearing having been held
thereon on or about November 6, 2001, and said matter having been duly considered by the
Hearing Examiner, and said zoning request having been recommended for approval without
conditions by the Hearing Examiner or by the Environmental Review Committee, and no
requests for reconsideration or appeals having been received during the appeal period that ended
December 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS, said zoning request being in conformity with the City's Comprehensive
Plan, as amended by Ordinance No. 4855, and the City Council having duly considered all
matters relevant thereto, and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in
opposition thereto;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The following described property in the City of Renton is hereby
rezoned to Center Downtown (CD) Zone, as hereinbelow specified. The Economic
Development, Neighborhoods, and Strategic Planning Administrator is hereby authorized and
directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to evidence said rezoning, to
wit:
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein.
(The 9,681 square foot site, at 21 Logan Avenue South, is located at the intersection of
Logan Avenue S. and Airport Way and abuts the Renton Municipal Airport to its west.)
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and
five days after publication.

P-l REZONE
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Lots 19,20,21 and 22, Block 4 of Renton Real Estate Co's 1st Addition of Renton, according to
the plat thereof recorded in Volume 21 of Plats, Page 50, records of King County, Washington;
EXCEPT that portion of said Lots 21 and 22 condemned in King County Superior Court Cause
No. 211409 for right-of-way for Commercial Waterway District No. 2; and
EXCEPT that portion of said Lots 21 and 22 conveyed to the City of Renton for street purposes
by deed recorded under King County Recording No. 936873;.and
EXCEPT that portion of said Lots 19 and 20 conveyed to the State of Washington for highway
purposes by deed recorded under King County Recording No. 3250237; and
EXCEPT that portion of said Lots 19,20 and 21 conveyed to the City of Renton by deed
recorded under King County Recording No.'7201070301;
TOGETHER WITH that portion of adjoining vacated alley as would attach by operation of law.
All situate in the Northeast quarter of Section 18, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M., in
the City of Renton, King County, Washington.
