RESOLUTION NO. 3464
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT BETWEEN KING COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION ROADS MAINTENANCE DIVISION AND THE
CITY OF RENTON FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING THE
LANDSBURG GRAVEL SUPPLEMENTATION MITIGATION
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the City, as a
local sponsor, dredged the Lower Cedar River from Lake Washington to Williams Avenue as
part of the Lower Cedar River Flood Control Project (LCRFCP) in 1998; and
WHEREAS, the USACE and the City, as local sponsor, are constructing flood control
improvements consisting of fioodwalls and levees on the Lower Cedar River from the North
Boeing Bridge to approximately Williams Avenue Bridge as part of the LCRFCP; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton Surface Water Utility is required to add 10,000 (ten
thousand) cubic yards of clean spawning gravel to the Cedar River near Landsburg, WA over the
next 10 to 15 years per the Hydraulic Project Approval (HPA) permit issued by the Washington
Department of Wildlife (WDFW) for the LCRFCP; and
WHEREAS, the King County Roads Maintenance Division has proven experience
contracting environmental sensitive mitigation projects within the City of Renton and King
County; and
WHEREAS, the Parties wish to implement the first year of Landsburg Gravel
Supplementation Mitigation Project during August, 2000, which includes adding 1,000 (one
thousand) cubic yards of clean spawning gravel to the upper Cedar River, as required by the
HPA for the LCRFCP and as described in the scope of work for the project; and

WHEREAS, the mitigation project must continue until the 10,000 (ten thousand) cubic
yards of gravel is added to the Cedar River, near Landsburg, Washington.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into
an agreement with the King County Department of Transportation Roads Maintenance Division
for the purpose of implementing the first and all subsequent years of the Landsburg Gravel
Supplementation Mitigation Project.
