RESOLUTION NO. 3387
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF TO ENTER INTO AN OPERATIONAL
STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE KING COUNTY
POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE RENTON FIRE DEPARTMENT
CONCERNING THE USE OF MARINE RESCUE EQUIPMENT AND
PERSONNEL.
WHEREAS, the King County Police Department Marine Patrol Division and the City of
Renton Fire Department Dive Rescue Team each owns and maintains marine rescue equipment and
personnel trained to provide various levels of service and marine rescue, recovery and investigation;
and
WHEREAS, in the event of a marine related incident, each of the parties may need the
assistance of the other party to this agreement to provide supplemental staffing, equipment, or other
support services; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which such
assistance will be provided;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION H. The Fire Chief is hereby authorized to enter into an Operational Statement of
Understanding Between the King County Police Department and the Renton Fire Department for the
provision of assistance to provide supplemental staffing, equipment or other support services as
needed.
