RESOLUTION NO. 3391
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF
SEATTLE ADDING CATHODIC PROTECTION WORK FOR THE CITY OF
SEATTLE TO THE LOGAN AVENUE STREET PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is currently engaged in the project generally known as
the Logan Avenue Project to install pavement and associated improvements on Logan Avenue
and parking and access along the Seattle pipeline right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the Utilities Division of the City of Seattle is planning on doing certain
cathodic protection work on its water pipeline which runs underneath the Seattle utility right-of-
way and crosses Logan Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the cathodic protection work by the City of Seattle has the potential for
damaging recently constructed City street, paving and parking projects described above; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton and the City of Seattle have determined that it would be
advantageous to have the parking, paving, street and cathodic protection work done all at the
same time; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has agreed to manage those projects; and
WHEREAS, it would be most efficient to have the cathodic protection work done under
Renton's management by adding the cathodic protection work to existing City contracts, by
means of a change order; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the City
of Renton will assume management of the combined projects; and

WHEREAS, such terms and conditions are set forth in an interlocal agreement between
the City of Renton and the City of Seattle;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION H. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal
cooperative agreement with the City of Seattle to add the cathodic protection work from Burnett
to Rainier and to existing City contracts for Logan Avenue and paving for parking and circulation
over the Seattle pipeline right-of-way.
