RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 9 2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND KING COUNTY DEPARTMENT
OF PARKS AND RECREATION REGARDING THE MAINTENANCE OF A
PORTION OF THE CEDAR RIVER TRAIL.
WHEREAS, the Cedar River Trail was constructed per agreement between the City of
Renton and the Washington State Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS,the City agreed to maintain the trail upon its completion; and
WHEREAS, Washington State Department of Transportation subsequently executed a
turnback agreement transferring ownership of a portion of the Cedar River Trail to King County
Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has continued to maintain a short section of trail from
approximately Maplewood Place S.E. to 149th Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue to maintain that section of the Cedar River Trail,
except for the bridge structure over the Cedar River; and
WHEREAS,the parties wish to formalize this maintenance agreement; and
WHEREAS, the parties have agreed to a document entitled "Letter of Understanding for
Maintenance of Regional Trail in Vicinity of SR-169 and Cedar River" to memorialize that
agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.

SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an interlocal
cooperative agreement with King County entitled "Letter of Understanding for Maintenance of
Regional Trail in Vicinity of SR-169 and Cedar River."
