RESOLUTION NO. 33 60
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
PARTIALLY LIFTING A MORATORIUM ON RESIDENTIAL
DEVELOPMENT IN COMMERCIAL AREAS FOR THE
RESIDENTIAL/MULTI-FAMILY SUBURBAN (RM-C) AND
RESIDENTIAL/MULTI-FAMILY NEIGHBORHOOD (RM-N) ZONING
DESIGNATIONS AND CONTINUING THE MORATORIUM ON THE
CENTER SUBURBAN (CS), CENTER NEIGHBORHOOD (CN), AND
COMMERCIAL ARTERIAL(CA)ZONES.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 3314, as continued by Resolutions Nos. 3345 and 3347,
the City Council imposed a moratorium on residential development in commercial areas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, through its Planning and Development Committee, has had
an opportunity to study the issue of residential development in commercial areas; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Development Committee recommended to the City
Council that the moratorium be partially lifted for the Residential/Multi-Family Center (RM-C)
and Residential/Multi-Family Neighborhood (RM-N) zoning designations, and the City Council
concurred at its meeting on October 5, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Development Committee further recommended that the
moratorium be continued in the Center Suburban (CS), Center Neighborhood (CN), and
Commercial Arterial (CA) zones, and the City Council also concurred in that recommendation at
its meeting of October 5, 1998;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all respects.
RESOLUTION NO. 1360
SECTION H. The moratorium, as to residential development in the Residential/Multi-
Family Suburban(RM-C) and Residential/Multi-Family Neighborhood (RM-N) zones is lifted.
SECTION M. The moratorium will continue in effect in the Center Suburban (CS),
Center Neighborhood (CN) and Commercial Arterial (CA) zones as per the terms of Resolution
No. 3347.
