HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3168 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3168 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING • AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, due to excessive rains in February the Cedar River has risen above flood stage and there have been several instances of flooding, slides and utility damage; and WHEREAS, immediate remedial measures need to be taken to contain the Cedar River and to repair the affected areas; and WHEREAS, it would be detrimental to the City' s best interest to delay work until the public bidding process could be fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II. The City Council hereby declares an emergency, suspends the statutory bidding process and authorizes the administration to contract, on an emergency basis, for necessary work to contain the Cedar River and repair the affected areas .
