HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 3226 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 3226 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, INCREASING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE CITY' S TRANSIT ADVISORY BOARD. WHEREAS, the City of Renton has adopted Resolution No. 3212 calling for the formation of a City Transit Advisory Board and setting its membership at fifteen members; and WHEREAS, there has been substantial interest in serving on the City Transit Advisory Board and the City of Renton wishes to utilize this valuable citizen resource; and WHEREAS, the active involvement of commuters, other existing and potential users, citizens, and stockholders in a City transit system in the form of an organized board to advise municipal authorities is important to ensure supportive and effective development of a transit system and a transit hub for the City; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II . The membership of the City Transit Advisory Board is increased to approximately twenty members, depending on community response and neighborhood representation. It is the RESOLUTION NO. 3226 City' s intent to represent as many neighborhoods as possible while still maintaining the Transit Advisory Board to an appropriate and manageable size. Members of the Transit Advisory Board are appointed by the Mayor and the City Council, and committee size is at the discretion of the Mayor and the City Council . Except as otherwise amended by this Resolution, Resolution No. 3212 remains in full force and effect .
