AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, Y,,7ASHINGTON, AMENDING
SECTION 4-718 OF TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF
ORDINANCE NO, 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERP.L ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF RENTON", RETA TING TO OFF-STREET PARKING
AREAS.
BE IT ORDAINED By THE MAYOR AND THE CITV COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF RENTON
AS FOLLOPS:
SECTION I: Existing Section 4-718 entitled "PARKING AND LOADING SPACE
REQUIREMENTS" of TITLE IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Section 4-718: PARKING AND LOADING SPACE REQUIREMENTS: In addition to
the regulations hereinabove prescribed for each of the respective districts,
no new building or structure, or enlargement or increase in size of industry
building or structure shall be hereafter erected unless in connection therewith,
there is provided off-street parking and loading space equal to the following
requirements:
There shall be established and maintained a permanent off-street parking
area upon site of residential property or in case of business or industrial pro-
perty within three hundred feet (300, ) of the front entrance thereof Such off-
street parking area, except on residential property, to be zoned as B -P (Business
Parking) and same shall be graded and surfaced to a standard comparable to the
street which serves the parking area as determined by the Engineer. If the re-
quiredB-P zoning ceases to exist in connection with the use for which it was
granted, and no equivalent B -P zoning is provided in connection with such use,
the occupancy and use of the building or structure becomes illegal and the
occupancy permit is void. The capacity of such parking area shall be as folio -vs
for the following uses:
One parking space shall equal at least an area of eight by twenty feet
(8' x 20').
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and legal publication.
