AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO AND PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION TO
TEE CITY OF RENTON OF PORTIONS OF SECTIONS, EIGHT, NINE, SIXTEEN
AND SEVENTEEN, TOWNSHIP 23 NORTH RANGE 5, E. W. M. , KING COUNTY,
WASHINGTON.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Rem. Rev. Stat., Sec. 8896 et seq.,
residents of portions of Sections 8, 9, 16 and 17, Township 23,
North Range 5, E.W. M., King County, Washington, duly filed with
the County Commissioners of said County, a petition for annexation
of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Renton; and
WHEREAS, on October 23, 1944 Resolution #9391 was passed by
the Board of County Commissioners directing that an election be
held in the territory hereinafter described and presenting the
proposition of annexation to the City of Renton to the residents
within said area; and
WHEREAS, as shown by certified copy of Resolution #9537 of the
Board of County Commissioners of King County, Washington, said
election was duly held in said territory on December 5, 1944, at
which a majority of the votes cast were for annexation, and the - •
Board of County Commissioners of King County, Washington having
so found and certified; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution #637 adopted March 20, 1945, the City
Council has declared that it is wise and expedient that such terri-
tory be annexed and directed the City Attorney to prepare an
Ordinance providing for the annexation of said territory in due form
of law;
NOV/ THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Renton do ordain
as follows:

SECTION 1: That the following described contiguous territory,
to-wit:
An area of land lying on the East side of the City of
Renton, Washington, abutting and adjacent thereto, being
located in King County, State of Washington, as portions
of Sections 8, 9, 16 and 17, Twp., 23 North, Range 5 East
W. M., described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the South boundary line
of Sec, 17, Twp. 23 North, Range 5 East, W. M., with the
East boundary line of the city limits of the City of Renton,-
King County, Washingtoh; thence east along the south line
of said Section 17 to the East line of the West one-half
(Wi) of the East one-half (E|) of Sec. 17; thence North
along said East line to its intersection with the East
boundary of the old Issaquah road, now called 112th place
Southeast and Southeast 128th Street; the road along the
South side of Windsor Hills Addition; thence along the East
boundary of 112th place Southeast and the South boundary of
Southeast 128th Street to the intersection with the North
line of Sec. 17, Twp. 23 North, Range 5 East W;M., thence
East along the North line of said Sec. 17 to its intersection
with the South line of Southeast 128th Street; thence Easterly
along said South line of Southeast 128th Street to its inter-
section with the East boundary of 116th Avenue Southeast
produced southerly (County road No. 174); thence North along
the said produced line and the East boundary of 116th Avenue
Southeast to the intersection with the South line, if produced
to the east of the Southeast quarter (SEj) of the Northeast
Quarter (NE£) of the Southeast quarter (SE^Jof Sec. 8, Twp.
23 North, Range 5 East W. M.; thence West along said South
line to the East line of the Southwest quarter (SW^j of the
Northeast quarter (NE^J of the Southeast quarter (Se^jof Sec.
8; thence North along the said East line to the North line
of the Southwest quarter (SWi) of the Northeast Quarter (NE£)
of the Southeast quarter (SEt) of said Sec. 8; thence West
along said North line to the East City limits of the City of
Renton; thence South along the East City limits of the City
of Renton to the place of beginning.
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Renton, and from and
after the effective date of this Ordinance shall become and be part
of the City of Kenton, subject to all the laws and ordinances thereof,
then and thereafter in force.
SECTION 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five
days from and after its passage, approval and legal publication as
provided by law •
