RESOLUTION NO. 3066
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, SETTING
A HEARING DATE FOR VACATING A PORTION OF SOUTH 11TH
STREET BETWEEN JONES AVENUE S. AND GRANT AVENUE S.
(FREE, MONAGHAN, KUNSTLE - VAC-94-001)
WHEREAS, a Petition has been filed with the City Clerk of
the City of Renton on or about March 30, 1994, pursuant to the
requirements of RCW 35 . 79, petitioning for the vacation of a
portion of a certain street, as hereinafter more particularly
described, and said petition having been signed by the owners of
more than two-third (2/3) of the property abutting upon a portion
of said street sought to be vacated, and same being described as
follows :
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof
as if fully set forth herein.

and Grant Avenue S . )
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. That the 11th day of July, 1994 at the hour
of 7 : 30 P.M. at the City Council Chambers in the Municipal Court
Building, Renton, King County, Washington, be and is hereby fixed
as the time and place when the aforesaid Petition for vacating
the aforesaid portion of South 11th Street between Jones Avenue
S . and Grant Avenue S. shall be heard and determined, which said
hearing date is not more than sixty nor less than twenty days
from the date of passage of this Resolution.

RESOLUTION NO. 3066
SECTION II. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to give notice of said time and hearing as provided in
RCW 35 . 79 .020 and any and/or all persons interested therein or
objecting to said vacation may then appear and be heard thereon,
or they may file their written objections thereto with the City
Clerk at or prior to the time of hearing on said vacation.
SECTION III. The City Council shall determine, as provided
in RCW 35. 79 . 030, as to whether an appraisal shall be secured to
ascertain the fair market value of the property sought to be
vacated as provided for in Ordinance No. 3635 and the amount of
compensation to be paid by the Petitioner-Owners to the City for
such vacation, but which said amount shall not exceed one-half
( 1/2 ) of the appraised value of the area to be vacated.
The City likewise reserves the right to retain an
easement for public utility and related purposes .

EXHIBIT "A"
STREET VACATION
(Portion South 11th Street)
A portion of street right-of-way dedicated on the face of the Plat of Highland Addition,as
recorded in Volume 17 of Plats, Page 32, Records of King County, Washington, described
as follows:
That portion of South 11th Street (formerly known as 9th Avenue [Plat]), said South 11th
Street right-of-way being 30 feet in width, lying westerly of the easterly right-of-way line
of Jones Avenue South extended southerly, said Jones Avenue South Street right-of-way
being 30 feet in width;
and lying easterly of the northerly extension of the easterly right-of-way line of a road
(Grant Avenue South), as deeded to the City of Renton under King County Recording
Number 8605230904, said northerly extension begins where the easterly right-of-way
line of the deeded road meets the south line of the Plat of Highland Addition and.
continues in a general northerly direction to a terminus on the south line of Lot 27 of said
plat.
It is the intent of this legal description to exclude from the street vacation of South 11th
Street any portion of Grant Avenue South and its future alignment or connection to the
deeded portion of road by King County Rec# 8605230904 which by description lies
contiguous to and south of the Plat of Highland Addition.
All situate in Henry H. Tobin Donation Claim No. 37 in Section 20, Township 23 North,
Range 5 East, W.M., King County, Washington.
