HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2967 Amends: RES 2878 RES 2911 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 2967 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING RESOLUTIONS NOS. 2878 AND 2911 EXEMPTING CERTAIN APPLICATIONS FROM THE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING PROCESS. WHEREAS, the City of Renton adopted Resolution No. 2878 which established a single process for rezones and Comprehensive Plan amendments until adoption of the new Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Renton adopted Resolution No. 2911 which amended Resolution No. 2878 and exempted certain applications from that Resolution; and WHEREAS, certain projects were well advanced in the review and permitting process such that the city had received materially compl�et.e ..,app.li.c;ati.ons..,,and_ the . projects had:-. undergone:- SEPA review :andka. ,pub,J. c -hearing-.:befor.e- the.-Hearing, Examiner; and. V.WHE:REAS, the ._.process...i.nitiated._in Resolution No... 287.8' may be completed. prior to- .City Counci;i .review of the projects exempted by Resolution No. 2911; and WHEREAS, it would be equitable to . complete the review of these projects separately; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects . SECTION II. Land use amendments or rezones for which complete applications were received and substantial progress has been made in processing the application, including SEPA review, prior to the adoption of Resolution No. 2878 on January 27 , 1992, RESOLUTION NO. 2967 will not be part of the area-wide zoning process under that Resolution but will proceed unaffected by that Resolution under the normal city scheduling process . A list of the projects to be exempted is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein as if fully set forth. SECTION III. This Resolution does not amount to a commitment to zoning under the present Comprehensive Plan, nor does it create any vesting of rights to the applicants . SECTION IV. Upon adoption of the new Comprehensive Plan, as required by GMA in July, 1994, any project that has been rezoned but does not have a materially complete building permit application will be required to comply with.. all existing development re:gu.iatons :as -of the .time of receipt of a materially complete .building:::p�e.rmit .applicat-io.n.-. Ordinance effective 8/19/92. 4. Malesis Rezone and Short Plat(050-90) 2202 Smithers Ave S Single-family residential Rezone from G-1 to R-1 STATUS: Rezone approved by City Council on 9/14/92. Ordinance effective 9/23/92. Short plat recorded.. 5. The Bluffs East of Lk Wash Blvd, north of Sunset 167 units multi-family Rezone from R-1 to R-3 STATUS: Hearing Examiner recommendation to approve rezone to go to City Council of- April 3, 1993. 6. Bakke, Inc. NE 4th and Union Ave SE 111 multi-family units Rezone from G-1 to R-3/B-1 STATUS: Extension of approval requested and project then withdrawn. 7. Forrest Creste(093-88) Duvall and SE 124th 200 multi-family units Rezone from G-1 to R-3 STATUS: Hearing Examiner recommendation appealed to City Council. 4 8. Jodi Thompson (045-88) 1222/1224 Kirkland Ave NE Rezone from R-2 to R-3 STATUS: Rezone approved by City Council on 11/14/88. Ordinance effective 11/24/88. Building permit submitted (vested). 9. Sunset Gardens/Crystal Heights (073-91) Rezone from R-1 to R-3 STATUS: Approved by Hearing Examiner; to be scheduled for City Council. r. 5
