CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2353
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY FOR PURPOSES OF CONTRACTING TO REPAIR DAMAGED
CITY INFRASTRUCTURE.
WHEREAS, heavy rains have damaged certain portions of the
city's infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the operation of the damaged infrastructure is
necessary for the efficient operation of the city; and
WHEREAS, immediate repairs are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects.
SECTION II. An emergency is hereby declared permitting the
City of Renton to hire contractors to repair damage to:
1. N.W. 7th Street/Rainier Avenue North - Earth slide and
sanitary sewer dislocation;
2 . Renton Municipal Airport - Flooding and sedimentation
build-up;
3 . Springbrook Creek - Flooding;
4 . Maplewood Golf Course dyke failure; and
5. Maplewood Creek and Sedimentation Pond - Flooding and
sedimentation build-up;
without the necessity of the delay involved with the public bid
process.
