RESOLUTION NO 2724
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON SETTING A
HEARING DATE TO CONSIDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF
MAPLE AVENUE S.W. (RAINIER BOULEVARD) .
WHEREAS a Petition has been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Renton on or about May 17, 1988, pursuant to the
requirements of RCW 35. 79, petitioning for the vacation of a portion
of a certain street, as hereinafter more particularly described, and
said petition having been signed by the owners of more than two-
third (2/3) of the property abutting upon a portion of said street
sought to be vacated, and same being described as follows :
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if
fully set forth herein.
(Portion of Maple Avenue S.W. - Rainier Boulevard)
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I: That the 18th day of July, 1988 at the hour of 7 : 30
P.M. at the City Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, Renton,
King County, Washington, be and is hereby fixed as the time and
place when the aforesaid Petition for vacating the aforesaid portion
of Maple Avenue S.W. (Rainier Boulevard) shall be heard and
determined, which said hearing date is not more than sixty nor less
than twenty days from the date of passage of this Resolution.
SECTION II : The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to give notice of said time and hearing as provided in RCW 35 . 79 . 020
and any and/or all persons interested therein or objecting to said

vacation may then appear and be heard thereon, or they may file
their written objections thereto with the City Clerk at or prior to
the time of hearing on said vacation.
SECTION III: The City Council shall determine, as provided in
RCW 35. 79 .030 as to whether an appraisal shall be secured to
determine the fair market value of the property sought to be vacated
as provided for in Ordinance No. 3635 and the amount of compensation
to be paid by the Petitioner-Owners to the City for such vacation
but which said amount shall not exceed one-half ( 1/2 ) of the
appraised value of the area to be vacated.
The City likewise reserves the right to retain an easement for
public utility and related purposes .

Exhibit "A"
That portion of Maple Avenue S.W. (Rainier
Boulevard) described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of Block
9 , Plat of Earlington as recorded in Volume 14
of Plats, page 7 , records of King County,
Washington ; thence Northeasterly along the
Northeasterly production of the Southeasterly
line of said Block 9 to the center line of Maple
Avenue S.W. ( Rainier Boulevard) ; thence
Northeasterly along said center line 267 .40 feet
to point of curve; thence along a curve to the
left with a radius of 382.53 feet , for a
distance of 73 .29 feet to an intersection with a
curve the center of which bears N 60 degrees
00' 32" W; thence along said curve to the left
with a radius of 400 feet for a distance of
120 .47 feet to a point of compound curve , the
center of which bears N 77 degrees 15152" W;
thence along a curve to the left with a radius
of 30 feet for a distance of 25 .62 feet more or
less to the Southeasterly margin of S.W. Sunset
Boulevard ; thence Southwesterly along said
margin 60.25 feet to the Northwesterly line of
S.W. Maple Avenue; thence Southwesterly along
said line on a curve to the right with a radius
of 352.53 feet for a distance of 160 .40 feet to
a point of tangency; thence S 29 degrees 59128"
W 292.04 feet to the point of beginning ;
Excepting therefrom a 16-foot strip of land
which is the Northeasterly production of the
existing 16-foot allev North of and aAjacent to
Block 9 .
