RESOLUTION NO. 8519
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
COMMEMORATING THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF LONGACRES
RACE TRACK.
WHEREAS Longacres Race Track has endured through good times
and bad, providing entertainment and employment to thousands upon
thousands of people; and
WHEREAS, the extraordinary vision of Mr. Joseph Gottstein
gave birth to an entire industry which has grown and enhanced the
economic climate of our state and city; and
WHEREAS, the Longacres management and employees have given
tirelessly to charitable causes and advanced the state of visual and
performing arts for all the public to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, as Longacres has hosted innumerable civic and
cultural events which served to introduce our city in a favorable
way to visitors ; now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : That Longacres Race Track be congratulated--.and
commended on the occasion of its 50th Anniversary and extended all
good wishes for a prosperous future
