RISOLUTION APPROVING THE FORM OF COOPERATION AGREEMF'NT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF RENTON. WASHINGTON
AND THE HOUSING AUTHORY OF
AND AUTHORIZING IM E=TION
W URFAS, it is the policy of this locality to eliminate substandard eui1 uWw r
inadequate housing, to prevent the spread of slums and blight, and to realize as
soon as feasible the goal of a decent home in a suitable living environment for 6':,1
Of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the United States Housing Act of 1937, as
amended, the Department of Housing and'Urban Development is authorized to provide
financial assistance .to local public housing agencies for undertaking and carrying
out the development and operation of low-rent housing projects that will assist in
meeting this goal; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15(7)0) of the United States Housing Act of 1937,
as amended, it is necessary that the �City of Renton
enter into a Cooperation Agreement withth the Housing Authoritz of
Rentonhereinafter referred to as the
"Local uthorityrlproviding for local cooperation in connection with such low-rent
housing project;. and
WHERFAS, pursuant to and in compliance with the provisions of Section 35.53.030(10)
of the Revised Code of Washington, the City Clerk

for the purpose of giving all interested persons an opportunity to be heard as to
whether such Cooperation Agreement should be entered into; and
WHEREAS, the notices for a public hearing have been posted as above provide(!,
and the City Council of .the City of Renton held a. public
hearing on Februar giving all
interested persons an opportunity to be heard as to wbether the proposed Cooperation
Agreement, in the form hereinafter set forth, should be entered into; which said
hearing has been concluded with all matters in connection therewith having been

R, tT RESOLVED BY THE CITY mLI�IL OF THS CITY OF RE= as follows;
1. There exists in the Renton a need for
such low-rent housing at rents wit n the means o low come amil�es or persons.
2. The May of Rprnton does hereby approve the development,
construction, and ownership by the Local of the project as defined in
Paragraph 1(a) of the Cooperation�A�gBre ment, a copy of whic is +attach d ereto and

pursuant to the provisions of the Housing Cooperation Law (Section 35.53.030(10) of
the Revised Code of Washington), to enter into a Cooperation Agreement in substantially
the form attached hereto as Exhibit !'All with the Local Authority. The Mayor

4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately.
