ORDINANCE' NO. 3417
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF TITLE VIII (HEALTH AND
SANITATION) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED
"CODE OF GENE'ItAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
RENTON" RELATING TO REVISED RATES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Section 8-309 of Title VIII (Health
and Sanitation) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended as to various
paragraphs as follows :
Section 8-309 (A) 1, 2. and 3, as amended: RATE FOR CHARGES :
The following schedule be and the same is hereby adopted as a basis
of classification and as a schedule of charges to be paid to and
collected by the City for services rendered:
(A) Collection of garbage, refuse and swill from residential
dwellings shall be made once a week and the charges therefor shall
be as follows :
1 . For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units" as herein
defined, placed not more than twenty five feet (25 ' )
from the edge of street, curb or alleyway abutting
or adjoining unit serviced:
Not more than 1 can per week $ 4.06 per month
Not more than 2 cans per week 4.93 per month
Each Additional can 1 . 43 per month
2 . For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units" as herein
defined, place more than twenty five feet (251 ) but
less than sixty feet (60' ) from the edge of the street,
curb, or alleyway abutting or adjoining unit serviced:
Not more than 1 can per week $ 4. 85 per month
Not more than 2 cans per week 6. 33 per month
Each additional can 1. 77 per month
3. For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units" as herein
defined, that are placed more than sixty feet (60 ' )
from the edge of street, curb , or alleyway abutting
or adjoining unit serviced:
Not more than 1 can per week $ 5.93 per month
Not more than 2 cans per week 7. 54 per month
Each additional can 1.91 per month
Section 8-309 (B) 1, L, and 3, as amended.
(B) Collection of garbage, refuse and swill from business
firms and commercial enterprises shall be made each weekday and
the charges to be as follows :
1. For the first twenty (20) "garbage cans" and/or
"garbage units" as herein defined - one dollar
five cents ($1.05) per can pickup per month.
2 . Any "garbage cans" or "garbage units" as herein
defined, in excess of twenty (20) cans per month,
one dollar five cents ($1.05) per can pickup per
month provided, however, that the minimum monthly
charge for each such business or commercial account
shall be the sum of Seven dollars thirty nine cents
($7. 39) per month.
3. The rate for the handling of hydraulic handled containers
approved by the City's contractor and the City for the
use by commercial, industrial and multiple dwelling
establishments shall be as follows :
1 yard container $ 5. 79 per pickup
1 1/4 yard container 6. 46 per pickup
1 1/2 yard container 7. 63 per pickup
2 yard container 9 .94 per pickup
20 yard container 53. 72 per pickup plus
dump fee
30 yard container 57 .09 per pickup plus
dump fee
40 yard container 60 .44 per pickup plus
dump fee
Compactors 2. 68 per cubic yard plu
dump fee
Sewage grit 16. 79 per ton plus dump

MINIMUM PICKUP
1 to 2 yard containers - once per week
20 to 40 yard containers - twice per month

Section 8-309 (D) 1, as amended:
1. Collection of Industrial Waste and Rates : "Industrial
Waste as that term is herein defined, shall be collected by the
City' s collector holding a valid and subsisting contract therefor,
from the manufacturing establishments having such wastes at the
rates and upon the terms established herein as the same may be
amended from time to time. The belowspecified rates and conditions
are based on annual quantities of "Industrial Wastes" of loose
measure or equivalent in combination of loose and compacted waste.
Dumping fees under (a) and (c) below are paid for by the manufacturer
separately and are not included in said rates .
(a) Forty (40) yard load of loose industrial waste,
whether in Contractor's or Customer's containers ,
exclusive of "dumping fee" at Disposal Facility :
25,000 to 45, 000 cubic yard annually $57. 09 per load
45,000 to 65,000 cubic yard annually 57 .09 per load
65,000 dubic yards and up 57. 09 per load
(b) All loose industrial waste hauled in other than
Contractor's or Customer's forty (40) yard containers
including the "dumping, fee" at Disposal Facility,
but in the event the existing dumping, fee is modifed
or revised, the hereinafter specified rate will be
modified accordingly:
25 , 000 to 45,000 cubic yards annually . $7. 69 per cubic yard
45,000 to 65,000 cubic yards annually 7. 69 per cubic yard
65,000 cubic yards and up 7. 69 per cubic yard
(c) Compacted industrial waste in customer-furnished
containers , exclusive of "dumping fee" at disposal
facility:
25,000 to 45,000 cubic yards annually $57.09 per load
45,000 to 65,000 cubic yards annually 57 .09 per load
65,000 cubic yards and up 57 .09 per load
(d) Sand and slag hauled to Disposal Facility, including
"dumping fee" for sand tubs :
$12. 38 per cubic yard, irrespective of annual volume
(e) Rates for all industrial concerns not falling in above
categories as herein set forth shall be as specified in
subparagraph (B) 3 of Section 8-309. All categories
will be reviewed quarterly. If the user is not falling
into its specified category, an adjustment will be made
at that time for the previous quarter. This adjustment
may be in favor of the contractor or the user whichever
is appropriate.
SECTION II.: Any and all Ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith. are hereby repealed.
