assembly shall operate without objectionable noise or vibration over
the entire range of recommended operating pressures.
The grinder shall be constructed so as to eliminate clogging and jam-
ming under all normal operating Conditions, including starting. Suffi-
cient vortex action shall be created to scour the tank free of deposits or
sludge banks which would impair the operation of the pump. These
requirements shall beaccomplished by the following actions in con-
junction with the pump:
1) The grinder shall be positioned is such a way that solids are fed
in an up -flow direction.

tions for the pump motor shall be provided by the use of an automatic -
reset, integral thermal overload protector incorporated into the motor.
This motor protector combination shall have been specifically investi-
gated and listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., for the applica-
tion.
The core shall be provided with a mechanical shaft seal to preclude
leakage between the motor and pump. The seal shall have a station-
ary ceramic seat and carbon rotating sealing surface with face preci-
sion lapped and held in position by a stainless steel spring.
The pump shall be equipped with a factory -installed, gravity -operated,
flapper -type integral check valve built into the disebArge pipe. This
valve will provide afull-ported passageway when open, and shall in-
troduce a friction loss of less than 6 inches of water at maximum rated
flow. A non-metallic hinge shall be run integral part of the flapper
assembly, providing maximum degrees of freedom for assured seating
even at a very low back pressure. The valve body shall. be made of
PVC.
The pump shall be constructed with a positively -primed flooded sue.
tion configuration. As added assurance that the pump cannot lose
prime even under negative pressure conditions in the discharge piping
system, the pump shall be equipped with an integral anti -siphoning,
air relief valve in the discharge piping just below the main check
valve. This valve will automatically close when the pump is running

(1) Approval of this erosion/sedimentation control (ESC) plan does not constitute an approval of permanent road or drainage design (e.g. size and location R,¢,Ergpr¢spipes, r trictors,
channels, retention facilities, utilities, etc.). AT TIME Cr SJR'ET"-'
(2) The implementation of these ESC plans and the construction, maintenance, replacement and upgrading of these ESC facilities is the responsibility of the contractor until all construction
is approved.
(3) The boundaries of the clearing limits shown on this plan shall be clearly flagged in the field prior to construction. During the construction period, no disturbance beyond the flagged
clearing limits shall be permitted. The flagging shall be maintained by the contractor for the duration of construction.
(4) The ESC facilities shown on this plan must be constructed in conjunction with all clearing and grading, activities, and in such a manner as to insure that sediment laden water dabs
not enter the drainage system or violate applicable water standards. (KCC 9.04.020 AA, KCRS 7.09 D)
(5) The ESC facilities shown on this plan are the minimum requirements for anticipated site conditions. During the construction period, these ESC facilities shall be upgraded (e.g. additional
sumps, relocation of ditches and silt fences, etc.) as needed for unexpected storm events (KCC 9.04.090 82?.
(6) The ESC facilities shall be inspected daily by the contractor and maintained as necessary to ensure their continued functioning (KC
C 9.04.090 B2).
(7) Any area stripped of vegetation, including roadway embankments, where no further work is anticipated for a period of 15 days, shall be immediately stabilized with the approved ESC
methods (e.g. seeding, mulching, netting, erosion blankets, etc.)(KCRS 7.09D).
8) Any area needing ESC measure, not requiring immediate attention, shall be addressed within fifteen (15) days.
9 The ESC facilities on inactive sites shall be inspected and maintained a minimum of once a month or within the 48 hours following a storm event.
10) At no time shall more than one foot of sediment be allowed to accumulate within a catch basin. All catch basins and conveyance lines shall be cleaned prior to paving. The cleaning
operation shall not flush sediment laden water into the downstream system.
(11) Stabilized construction entrances and wash pads shall be installed at the beginning of construction and maintained for the duration of the project. Additional measure may be required
to insure that all paved areas are kept clean for the duration of the project. (RCW 46.61.655)”
(12) During the time period of November 1 through March 31, all project disturbed areas greater than 5,000 square feet that are to be left unworked for more than 12 hours shall be covered
by one of the following cover measures: mulch, sodding or plastic covering.
(13) Any permanent retention/detention facility used as a temporary settling basin shall be modified with the necessary erosion control measures and shall provide adequate storage
capacity. If the permanent facility is to function ultimately as an infiltration or dispersion system, the facility shall not be used as a temporary settling basin. No underground detention
tanks or vaults shall be used as a temporary settling basin.
(14) Where seeding for temporary erosion control is required, fast germinating grasses shall be applied at an appropriate rate (e.g. annual or perennial rye applied at approximately 80 pounds
per acre).
(15) Where straw mulch for temporary erosion control is required, it shall be applied at a minimum thickness of two inches.
FLTBt FENCE
a) The filter fabric shall be purchased in a continuous roll cut to the length of the barrier to avoid use of joints. When joints are necessary, filter cloth shall be spliced together only at
a support post, with a minimum 6—in. overlap, and both ends securely fastened to the post.
b) The filter fabric fence shall be installed to follow the contours (where feasible). The fence posts shall be spaced a min. of 6 ft. apart and driven securely into the ground (minimum
of 30 in.).
c A trench shall be excavated, roughly 8 in. wide and 12 in. deep, upslope and adjacent to the wood post to allow the filter fabric to be buried.
d3 When standard strength filter fabric is used, a wire mesh support fence shall be fastened securely to the upslope side of the posts using heavy—duty wire staples at least 1 in. long,
tie wires or hog rings. The wire shall extend into the trench a min, of 4 in. and shall not extend more than 36 in. above the original ground surface"
e) The Standard Strength filter fabric shall be stapled or wired to the fence, and 20 in. of the fabric shall be extended into the trench. The fabric shall not extend more than 36 in. above
the original ground surface. Filter fabric shall not be stapled to existing trees.
f) When extra—strength filter fabric and closer post spacing are used, the wire mesh support fence may be eliminated. In such a case, the filter fabric is stapled or Wired directly to the
posts with all other provisions of the Standard Note e. applying. -
The trench shall be backfilled with 3/4—In. min. diameter washed gravel.
h3 Filter fabric fences shall be removed when they have served their useful purpose, but not before the upslope area has been permanently stabilized.
i) Filter fences shall be inspected immediately after each rainfall and at least daily during prolonged rainfall. Any required repairs shall be made immediately.

(1) Arrange and attend pre—construction meeting with. City of Renton.
(2) Contractors surveyor to establish and stake out control points for work. Stake road and path center lines, building locations, and clearing limits for approval prior to clearing and
grading.
3Erect filter fabric fence and orange tree protection fencing.
4 Construct stabilized construction entrance.
5Clear and grub area, protect trees noted to remain.
6 Remove existing surface features and miscellaneous items as noted.
7 Rough grade parking and roadways, and grade site per plan.
8 Construct site improvements.
9 Final grade for parking areas, pave per plan.
10) Hydroseed remaining disturbed areas.
11 Returnsiltation control areas to original ground conditions.
12 Remove remaining temporary erosion/sedimentation control only after site has been stabilized and City of Renton has approved the removal.
SURVEY: Underground utilities and improvements shown are based upon the survey by Inca Engineers. Inc. Dated 8/27/91, and
e been shown on this drawing
utilities and improvements have record drawings. No warranty or guarantee of accuracy or completeness is either implied or expressed. Existing underground u p 9
for the purpose of assisting the contractor in locating said utilities and improvements in the field. The contractor shall be responsible for checking with appropriate agencies that may have
