HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3682 �398� x CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 3682 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING PORTIONS OF SECTION 4-2204 OF TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO . 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO PARKING AREAS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Existing subsection 2 A. of -Section 4-2204 of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No . 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is amended by adding the following subsection : Section 4-2204 2 . A. (3) . Joint Use Driveways . Except in residential zones (G-1 and R-1 through R-4) , adjoining uses fronting on a street may utilize a joint use driveway where such joint use driveway reduces the total number of driveways entering the street. Joint use driveways must be created upon the common property line. Joint use access to the driveway shall be assured by easement or other legal form acceptable to the City. Only one-half of any required access aisleway shall be required along the common property line where the remaining one-half is provided on the adjoining property, and is assured by easement or other legal form acceptable to the City. SECTION II : Existing subsection 3 A. of Section 4-2204 of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No . 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is amended to read as follows : Section 4-2204 3. A. Distance. Required parking as specified herein shall be provided upon property in the same ownership as the property upon which the building or use requiring the specified parking is located. Off-street parking facilities shall be located as hereinafter specified. Where a distance is specified, such distance shall be the walking distance measured from the nearest point of the parking facility to the nearest point of the building that such facility is required to serve. A. 1 (1) Single Family and Duplexes . On the same lot with the building they are required to serve . (2) Multi-Family. May be on a contiguous lot with the building they are required to serve provided the provisions of C. (Off-Site Parking) below are complied with. (3) Boat Moorages . May have parking areas located not more than six hundred feet (600) from such moorage facility . (4) Other Uses . On the same lot with the principal use except when the conditions as mentioned in C (Off-Site Parking) below are complied with. SECTION III : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage , approval and thirty days after publication . PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 6th day of December; 1982 .
