HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3721 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO . 3721 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON AMENDING A PORTION OF CHAPTER 22 OF TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO . 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO LEASED PARKING THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Existing Section 4-2202 of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No . 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding; the following definition: Section 4-2204 1 , as amended : 1 . Leased Parking. Parking for a particular land use on land which is subject to a lease or other agreement allowing the owners of the building to use the property for parking for the use . Leased parking shall be a permanent parking arrangement . The permanency of the parking shall be determined upon consideration of the remaining economic life of the building for which the parking is provided, and of the provision of the applicant of appropriate measures to protect against conditions which may cause forfeiture of the lease or other land use agreement . Such measures may include, but are not limited to , bonds or covenants running with the land upon which the building is located to cause the termination of the occupancy of the building upon termination of the leased parking. SECTION II : Existing subsection 3A of Section 4-2204 of Title IV (Building; Regulations) of Ordinance No . 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : Section 4-2204 3A, as amended.- A, mended;A, Distance., Required parking as spe.ci.fi.ed herein shall be provided upon property in the same ownership as the property upon wh.ich. the building, or use requiring the specified parking is located or upon leased parking, Off-street parking facilities shall be located ashereinafter specified. Where a distance is specified, such distance shall be the. walking distance measured from the nearest point of the parking facility to the nearest point of the building that such facility is required to serve , (1) Single Family and Duplexes : On the same lot with the building they are required to serve , (2). Multi-Family , May be on a contiguous lot with the building they are required to serve provided the provisions of C (Off- Site Parking) below are complied with. (3) Boat Moorages . May have parking areas located not more than six hundred feet (.600' ) from such moorage facility. (4) Other Uses . On the same lot with the principal use except when the conditions as mentioned in C (Off-Site Parking) below are complied with. (5) Lease Parking facilities, shall be adjacent to the building or use requring the parking, or may be located across a street from the building or other use , provided, that the street is a less intensively classified street than an arterial . SECTION III : This Ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage, approval and thirty days after publication. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 18th day of April , 1983 . Maxine E.
