HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3730 0 40551 E F:tai.*C:- F ,, C1 Ci CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTO14ASH'L ► k. :r.• 00 ORDINANCE N0 , 3730 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON' WASHINGTON ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF RENTON (JACKSON ANNEXATION) A-1-82 WHEREAS under the provisions of RCW 35A. 14. 120 , as amended, a petition in writing requesting that certain territory contiguous to the City of Renton , as described below, be annexed to the City of Renton; was presented and filed with the Policy Development Department on or about July 26 , 1982 , and lin WHEREAS prior to the filing and circulation of said petition L0 C:)p for annexation to the City of Renton, the petitioning owners notified- O the City Council of their intention to commence such proceedings as c� provided by law, and as more particularly specified in RCW 35 . 13 . 125 and upon public hearing thereon, it having been determined and the petitioning owners having agreed to assume the pre-existing bonded indebtedness of the City of Renton as it pertains to the territory petitioned to be annexed; and to accept that portion of the City ' s Comprehensive Plan as it pertains to the territory including the applicable zoning code relating thereto , and WHEREAS the Policy Development Department has examined and verified the signatures on the petition for annexation and determined . the assessed valuation of all the properties , the same being in excess of seventy-five percent (75%) of the area to be annexed, in value, as provided by law and the petition also setting forth the legal description of the property according to government legal subdivision or plat and the Building and Zoning Department of the City of Renton having considered and recommended the annexing of said property to the City of Renton; and ,,4 e P WHEREAS the City Council fixed August 16 , 1982 at 8 :00 P .M. as the time and place for public hearing in the City Council Chambers , City Hall , Renton , Washington , upon the petition and notice thereof having been given as provided by law, and said hearing being continued at applicant ' s request to February 28 , 1983 , and WHEREAS pursuant to said notice a public hearing was held on February 28 , 1983 and the Council having considered all matters in c-1 Lnconnection with the petition and further determined that all legal require- ments and procedures of the law applicable to the petition method for O annexation as specified . in RCW 35 . 1.3 . 130 et seq have been complied with, cn GD and WHEREAS a "Notice of Intention" having been filed with the King County Boundary Review Board as required by law, and the Boundary Review Board having waived its jurisdiction as per its letter dated May 16 , 1983 . NOW THEREFORE , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : The findings , recitals and determinations are hereby found to be true and correct in all respects ; all requirements of the law in regard to the annexation by petition method, including the provisions of RCW 35 . 13 . 125 , 130 , 140 , 150 and Chapter .189 , Sessions Laws of 1967 , have been complied with. It is further determined that the petition for annexation to the City of Renton of the property and territory described below is hereby approved and granted ; the following described property being contiguous to the City Limits of the City of Renton, is hereby annexed to the City of Renton and such annexation to be effective -2- on and after the: approval , passage and publication of this Ordinance ; and on and after said date the property shall constitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject to all its laws and ordinances then. and thereafter in force and effect ; the property being described as follows : See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. ri LO and the owners-petitioners of the property shall assume the pre-existing pbonded indebtedness of the City of Renton as prescribed in RCW 35 . 13 . 126 as it pertains to the property, and the property to be subject to the 00 City ' s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code . SECTION II : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage , approval and five days after its publication. A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the King County Council , State of Washington, and as otherwise provided by law. SECTION III : The annexed property , contiguous to Precinct No . 103 of the City of Renton shall be and constitute a part of .the Precinct No . 103 of said City . City Cle;k } JACKSON ANNEXATION That portion of Lot d1 and of Lot 112 in Block 1 of Aker's Farms No. 6, according to the plat thereof as recorded in Volume 42 of Plats, Page 15; records of King County, Washington; Together with the vacated street (40 .feet wide) between said lots; described as follows: Beginning at the southeast corner of said Lot 112; Thence N.88°30'40"W. along the north right-of-way line of S.E. 162nd Street a distance of 260.64 feet to the easterly boundary of a tract of land annexed' to the City of Renton by Ordinance No. 2224; thence along said easterly boundary the following courses: . 1N.01033'43"E. a distance of 102.29 feet to the southwesterly margin of said va- n cated 40 feet wide street; 0 O Thence N.42°23'09"W. along said southwesterly margin a distance of 99.93 feet to c� the east line of said Lot 111; O M Thence N. 1`33'43"E. along said east line a distance of 56.64 feet to the northeas- terly margin of said vacated street; Thence S.42°23'09"E. along said northeasterly margin a distance of 99.90 feet; Thence N. 1°33'43"E. a distance of 110.42. feet; Thence S.88°46'45"E. parallel to the north line of said Lot 112 a distance of 260:67 feet to a point on the east line of said Lot 112 which bears S. 1°33'43"W. a distance of 245.65 feet from the northeast corner of said Lot #2; Thence S. 1°33143"W. along said east line a distance of 270.56 feet to the point of beginning. Together with all that portion of S.E. 162nd Street lying westerlyof the southerly extension of the east line of said Lo.t 112, and lying southerly of the westerly ex- tension of the north line of said Lot O1 and Together with that portion of Seattle City Water Main - Bow Lake Pipeline right-of- way lying easterly of the northerly extension of the west line of Lot #1, Block 10 of said plat and lying westerly of a line parallel to said west line extending nor- therly from the northwest corner of Lot 111, Block 1 of said plat.
