1 CITY OF RENTON., WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2285
WHEREAS the United States has undergone a period of
expanded use of energy, and
WHEREAS it has been necessary for the United States to
purchase a large portion of its energy needs from foreign nations ,
and,
WHEREAS such energy purchases have proved expensive and the
supplies unreliable, and 1
WHEREAS the cost and lack of availability of energy threatens
the economy and standard of living of the citizens of the United
States and of the City of Renton, and
WHEREAS Jimmy Carter, President of the United States has
proposed a national plan and effort for energy conservation, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Renton believes
such plan and effort will be beneficial to the citizens of Renton
and deserves the support of the citizens of Renton; now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II : That the President ' s national plan and effort
for energy conSerWation is beneficial to the citizens of these United
States and to the citizens of the City. of Renton and it is hereby given
the support of the City of Renton and its City Council.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 23rd day of July, 1979.
