CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2019
WHEREAS the Residence Single Family District (R-1) as
set forth in Section 4-706 of. Title IV of the City' s Code has
undergone substantial development and is being utilized for uses
otherthan single family dwellings as set forth in said Section, and
WHEREAS this development, for otherthan single
family dwellings may threaten the continued residential character
of some neighborhoods , and
WHEREAS the Planning Commission of the City of Renton,
Planning Department of the City of Renton and the Planning and
Development Committee of the Renton City Council are studying
certain proposed changes to the R-1 Zoning legislation and
Comprehensive Plan, and
WHEREAS further utilization of properties in the R-1
District for other than single family dwellings 'during this study
pernid may provedetrimental to the character of some neighborhoods ,
NOW THEREFORE.
THE CITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The above statements 'are found tobe true
and correct in every respect..
SECTION II: There shall be a moratorium for a period
of sixty (60) days from date hereof on permits to construct any
structure or permit any use within the R-1. District except single
family dwellings and/or modifications or expansions to existing
structures.
