CITY OF RENT.ON, WASHINGTON.
RESOLUTION NO. 2010
WHEREAS the City of Seattle heretofore passed its Resolution
No. 25073 under date of November 10 , 19.7.5 , urging the Governor of
the State of Washington, withthe assistance of. the State Legislature,
to appoint a Commission and implementing a citizen participation
process in order to develop a realistic and equitable tax reform
packagetobe submittedto the. :Legislature and/or thevoters of
the State of Washington, and
WHEREAS the City of Renton fully supports the principles
of such resolution,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND. THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REN.TON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I: The City of Renton herebydeclares: its. will-
ingness tojoin along with other jurisdictions within the State
of Washington in urging the Governor and State Legislature to appoint
a Tax Reform Commission, duly representative of all interested parties.
SECTION II: The City of Renton further recommends that
there should be full citizen participation in implementing such
tax reform package for submission to the State Legislature and/or
the voters of. the .State and that periodic meetings be held in all
major population centers of the State so that .the general public
has a full opportunity tobe informed and voice preferences on
different and various possible fax measures:.
