RESOLUTION NO.-�� • , . -
WHEREAS the City is vitally concerned with all aspects of
living in the City of Renton, and
WHEREAS education is considered a vital element for the
well being of the citizens of the City of Renton, NOti� THEREFORE ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE NLAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The Board of Trustees of the Renton School
District No. 403 have set Tuesday, February 8, 1972 for the
date of a special levy election. Such election shall include
three propositions for the purpose of collectincr, tax millage
for the maintenance and operation of Renton 5chools . �
SECTION II : Special levies failed in the Renton School I
District twice last year causinq curtailment of many programs ,
reductions in staff and supplies .
SECTION III : In order to insure a full and complete
education program for the 1972-73 school _year, passage of
all three propositions is deemed necessar_y. The Renton City
Council therefore goes on record.'as supporting the totai. special
school levy - all three propositions - and urges each and every
' citizen to vote Tuesday, February 8 , 1972 .
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON, WASHINGTON this �p� day of January , 1972 .
