SECTION:;II : It is the conclusion of the Renton City Council , based on testimony presented by the King County Department of Public Works and by citizens of the area, that the proposed route of the project could effectively eliminate a habitat for deer and other wildlife; that the environmental assessment statement by Cornell, Howland, Hayes & Merryfield, Inc. , shows that it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to restore native vegetation in the area of the project; and while such proposed route would provide an improved access, it appears to do so to the detriment of the natural character of the ravine and setting of surrounding homes . -1- . _ , - ._ :%. . , , • .' . , . - SECTION III : Without soil borings, it apears extremely doubtful that severe slippage and slides can be avoided during and after construction of the project on the proposed route. The environmental impact of this particular project on the proposed route is hereby deemed detrimental to the natural setting of the area and to the residents of the area, and the City of Renton therefore requests that further development of plans for the proposed route be terminated and that every effort be made to preserve all open spaces and natural environment. • PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON this Co"`1 day of March, 1972 .
