iy RESOLUTION N0. ���.
WHEREAS the Shoreline Management Act of 1971 provides for an
� equitable balance between environmental quality needs and economic �
growth, and
WHEREAS there is a need to foster reasonable and appropriate II
utilization of shorelines in the State of Washington, and
WHEREAS Alternative Measure 43-B offers such a sensible balance
1 between shorelands preservation and proper economic development , and

WHEREAS s.a�:d Alternative Measure will protect and enhance both
natural beauty, recreational uses and job opportunities , and
WHEREAS said Measure is presently functioning successfully under
the title of the Shoreline Management Act of 1971, and such Act needs
state-wide voter approval in order to continue in effect , NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I : The City of Renton hereby endorses and supports
ALTERNATIVE MEASURE 43-B , to be voted on by the people of the State of
Washington on November 7 , 1972 , and the City of Renton hereby encourages
each citizen to give proper support and consideration to said Measure.
